I got certified as a substitute teacher back in January, so I'm working in the meantime while my background check is getting started. I'm debating whether to sub at GMHS (if I did, that would be great because there are always assignments over there), because I've heard it's gotten worse since 2001......yeah, I wasn't impressed AT ALL with Dr. Lymas --- it's too bad that Reynolds left. I've also subbed at Esperanza, and I do feel like the classes are larger than they should be. Other than that, I've worked at Green Holly Elem. and my experience there was the best so far.

I was a substitute teacher for awhile when I was 19...it made me realize that I am not a big fan of other people's kids, and I should never move to Nanjemoy. :lmao:

What do you consider too many kids in a classroom??

And before you answer that, I bet you were in classes that YOU(OK mommy and daddy) were paying for, and there were over 100 kids.

I heard Great Mills High was really turning around, cameras, extra security etc.. Hate to say money has something to do with it, but there are a LOT of new neighborhoods of >600 - 700k homes who's kids go to Great Mills, and the parents are gettting involved in the school systems here, and making changes, Demanding changes.

In this case, money talks..

All of Southern Maryland, not just Charles County, even Prince Frederick is getting bad
Where would you suggest moving to that is so much better, and still has the opportunities for children that we do here?

I suggest North, or in North Carolina.....Moorestown, NC. Went and stalked the schools.....excellent test scores. Went to Ohio....again excellent test scores and low crime rate. What opportunities for children? I have a 5 year old daughter and am a very involved parent. I went to the movies in Calvert this weekend WILL NOT do that again, we will be renting and viewing at home. I was shocked to hear how some of the parents spoke to their children, using the F-word. What is that. I went to Calvert because of my last experience in Waldorf, which I must say was far worse than Calvert. I guess it is everywhere but this area, with the metro, is just horrific. :bawl:

Wake up, you are hypersensitive.. Why don't you construct a bubble around your home and shelter your kids from the outside totally... That way they will grow up clueless and weak...

Nanjemoy, VERY NICE AREA!!!!Seriously, good community as well. Much better than ST. Marys

Nanjemoy has it's share of crime also. I don't think it's any nicer than LaPlata. :howdy:

35-40 kids is too many, IMO............and yes, I pay taxes like everyone else -- everyone pays taxes, whether it's when they buy something at the store or it's taken out of their paychecks.
