Oh man... I made the mistake of passing out on a plastic couch ONE time. I skinned myself alive.
What the hell were they ever thinking with the plastic covers? Why was that all the rage in the 70's? Did they take that shiznit off when company came over? The preacher? What? I never did get it even as a kid, but all my relatives had their furniture covered with the plastic.

Every Italian that I ever met, as a kid and even in High school, had the furniture covered with plastic. That clear 1/8" thick vinyl. SOOOooo comfortable, especially in houses with no A/C.

It must be a Philly thing. We West Virginian's are much more highly evolved. We buy brand new furniture and cover them with whatever old bedsheet is laying around.

Yes, my mother still does this. :lmao:

I refuse to "make do". I've done the "make do" for too long in my life. Slip covers? Again you give me the flash backs to childhood. Thanks man.

You must have been highly intoxicated last you sat on my couch. The only compassionate thing to do for that couch is to light a match and watch it burn. :ohwell:

Same as the plastic! What's the point? I mean, if you are trying to preserve the furniture for some eventual museum honoring your life, why bother? It never made sense to me.

 That's how I feel about the whole "I don't want to put mileage on my car" thing. Why the hell not, it's a car, you're supposed to drive it around.

Don't forget the woven patterns, usually some sort of flower or paisley. And ALL furniture was puke green or sunshine orange in the 70's. Man, this is just wrong! I shouldn't have these memories conjured up on a Friday night in the 21st century! :lalala:
