 That's how I feel about the whole "I don't want to put mileage on my car" thing. Why the hell not, it's a car, you're supposed to drive it around.
Of course! That's what you bought it for in the first place!!! People tell you "Oh, that's a lot of miles on that there trip for your hoopty. You sure you'd be wanting to go that far then?"

Makes you want to scratch your eyeballs out and run naked to the nearest cliff screaming "WHY! WHY! WHY!?"

Remember my jeep? When I gave it to my brother it had about 215k miles on it...he turned around and sold it and the guy that bought it is STILL driving it around!

Poor Dustin. Being locked up all the time, and even tonight, being forced two watch Willy Wonka, again. Poor guy. I remember him well, how free he made us all feel, riding his motorcycle till it got "stolen".

I vaguely remember your Jeep. The Escort we gave to Christy's nephew Thomas in 2002 is still running around too.

It had 186k miles on it and I begged my dad to let me buy it, and it was originally the "biggest mistake ever"...look who's laughing now.

Don't make a dime's worth of difference to me, as long as it looks okay. I mean criminy, it's not like it requires the Queen of England's seamstresses to re-upholster a couch. Bucky or Ray could do it for all I care as long as it looks fabulous when it's finished.

Well since you don't care one way or the other about whom or how it is done I guess I'll waste a little more time and ask a few questions. Do you know if the material's nap has a direction? Put the "patch" on in the wrong direction and it might stand out just like a big zit in the middle of your forehead. Will the kit perfectly match the die-lot for the fabric? Die lot can vary bolt to bolt for the exact same material and will occasionally vary within the same bolt.

Oh yeah, my first job after farm work was in an upholstery shop and Mom just gave up the trade after 40 years. I just called and she said if you do accept it and go for the local repair that you should get pictures of the damage upon delivery and you need to put your expectations down in writing (a contract) to include withholding the final payment until you are completely satisfied (if that is an option for you).

But then there would be no posts. We'd all be chatting sideways, and all hidden-like. Hmmmm....where do I find this "Yahoo"?
