I think he should be forced to wear a skirt and lipstick for the rest of his life.:yay:

He broke a social norm too, putting a slug in some kids skull.
Maybe broke the social norm as it now, but soon it will be the norm to shoot people more at school than not.

I thought it was the "30 million persons worldwide" that mattered? You mean it was actually the 0.3% of Americans who were paying for their recklessness that got all this attention?

"Devastating?" AIDS had killed 546,000 Americans through 2006. That may sound huge, unless you actually look at all the other diseases that killed so many more people in the same time frame.

And malaria could be eradicated by now if we would just do what it takes.

I said devastate a "segment of the population". Meaning gay men.

To prove my point...

Say 3% of the population is Gay, 9 million persons. Say half of those are men -> 4.5 million. Most reports show HIV infection is 70% men and of those infections 60% is through gay sex. So ((546000*.7)*.6) -> 229320. 229320/4500000 -> 5%.

But this really doesn't prove much because I should be using the average population since 1982 and since HIV is now a treatable illness in the developed world the numbers don't grasp the fear that must have been felt when so little was known about the illness.

Everyone has their causes though, I'm sure we could have corrected the malaria situation if we devoted the funds to it. I personally would rather we have spent a trillion dollars on space exploration instead of the middle east....but we really have little say.

I know that if I'm out and about and hear someone gay bashing I get up in their face and put a stop to it right away because I don't tolerate that crap. Love it or hate it, that's your business... .

No it's not.
Your sexuality is none of my business. You gay friends somehow feel it's important that I know their sexual orientation. I don't care.
It's none of my business.

Why are gays surprised when they demonstrate their ability to prance like sugar plum fairies in front of knuckle dragging cro-magnum males the the cro-magnums feel like demonstrating their abilities.

That's kind of my point. The AIDS hysteria, and therefore funding, were based on fear rather than science. That continues to be true today, and public figures cannot speak out against it because it is political suicide.

Should we really be celebrating the people who sparked this fear more than 20 years ago?

Al Gore got a Nobel prize, next question.

Actually, the malaria problem was exacerbated by activism, not reduced.

Silent Spring facilitated the ban of the pesticide DDT[2] in 1972 in the United States.

Now read this:
DDT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the period from 1934-1955 there were 1.5 million cases of malaria in Sri Lanka, resulting in 80,000 deaths. After the country invested in an extensive anti-mosquito program with DDT, there were only 17 cases reported in 1963. Thereafter the program was halted, and malaria in Sri Lanka rebounded to 600,000 cases in 1968 and the first quarter of 1969.

Ooooo, tolerance and diversity! How about understanding social norms, using etiquette and grace, and not taking glee in offensive behavior? If the little flamer wanted to dress up in drag on his own time, most likely no one would care. By taking it to school and indulging in such in-your-face behavior he should have expected an a$$ whupping. The murder is inexcusable, but the blame lies with the foster parents and school staff who tolerated this behavior.

I have to disagree! If girls can go to school dressed like tom boys, or girls can go to school dressed provocatively, then young boys should be able to express their own person as well. There are more important things to worry about with our children than for us to be worried about a child dressing unapproprately according to certain peoples standards. Lets worry about our kids getting sold drugs right on our school property, or in front of the local super market. Let's worry about our children being violent towards other people. Let's worry about our children feeling like they have to commit suicide because some ignorate people can't stand the idea of him or her being gay, so they feel like they are being outcasts.

Don't forget it's the schools that kirk out anytime a girl dresses in a skirt. When that happens, we hear the ":blahblah: They can't wear that because it's too risque."

You're right, I wish the schools would knock it off with overly worrying about what our kids are wearing.

This kid dressed in his skirt was shot dead IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS!!! That's a MUCH BIGGER problem.

You can't honestly expect to be taken seriously when you throw out crap like that. Get real, Andy.
