I would assume you need a certain low income to be considered.

Why would you assume that? Are only poor kids deserving of a field trip with the police?

smcop would drool at the opportunity to be unaccompanied with young boys in his squad car :lmao:

To even have that thought of a child shows exactly what's on your mind. You really are a sick guy and I feel sorry for whatever happened in your life which made you resent the police so much.

We all know your a want a be, but to talk about children and insinuate someone would want to abuse them is really disgusting. But I guess you have to consider the source!

We are considering the source. YOU. You're bitter and nasty, and nothing you might do would surprise me. You keep missing something very important....it's not police in general we don't like. It's YOU.

I am really sorry I brought this up here. Maybe I am too thin skinned, but I believe this is a nice program and at a time where the police are doing something nice people still find a way to say bad things about them.

Bingo. I play poker with cops / retired cops. I get along with those guys. Funny, but I can't envision smcop sitting at the table with me without losing his cool. He's definitely got LDS....wanna figure out what that is?

I may not agree with everything that smcop says... but he is a cop. And despite my distrust of cops (for reasons associated with criminal psychology and profiling), if he says this is a legit program, then it more than likely is.

As a parent it's simple enough to verify with the police department and just make sure your child has a cell phone equipped with a GPS for piece of mind.

See, marybek, a majority of cops are good guys earning a living. Our internet local yokel smcop is full of :bs: and himself. Don't look at all cops the way smcop acts and portrays local cops to be. He's the rotten egg the department would flush down the urinal if they actually saw his antics.

Why would the cops who only have a limited budget to start with take some kid whos parents are well off shopping for school supplies that they can already afford. Makes no sense.

Call them and ask them how a family would qualify.

Yea, well if that's the case and you really believed that, then you wouldn't spend most of your time here posting negative things about the cops. Don't be a hypocrite.

I don't care what you and Elaine think of me! I am proud of the work I do. I am respected by my peers as well as those who I have served. So people like you who make up lies about the police Ie; cops beating girl in front of ihop, don't matter at all.

I'm still earning a good living doing what I like to do!

I did read it, like the part where it says to apply..families can apply for consideration to participate through the Web site of ADF Bingo, at www.adfbingo.com.

I would assume you need a certain low income to be considered. If not, Heck, Ill take some new threads.
Does anyone find it ironic that families can apply for consideration thru the ADF Bingo website? I mean, if you have enough $ to play bingo

It was either that or at the lottery counter. Oh, wait, that would mean MD was funding it and giving some of the stolen, I mean, lottery money back.

Seems like this is a very nice program and I am glad that the Police Department is community oriented like that. :yay:

Has anyone heard about this program called Shop with a Cop? A police officer called me and said he wanted to take my son shopping for school supplies this weekend. He said they have been doing this for a few years, and it would cost me nothing. I am kinda new here, but this sounds like a great thing. He told me they would be in police cars and would have identification. Anyone know?
Hi there.......yes this is true. My hubby is doing shop with a cop on Saturday. I believe all the cops and kids are to meet at Wildwood Shopping centre and are assigned to a cop to go shopping.

It's a nice thought, but just because it's a cop, doesn't mean it's not a stranger. I don't send my child out with strangers.
