One question never answered is .... How were they able to get a DNA test done so fast to identify the shooter on the same day as the incident? Because after a lab gets a sample, it usually takes a minimum of 24 hours for it to be processed. And what biometric data did they have on a 20 year to match with?

From the le.fbi.gov site "Rapid DNA, or Rapid DNA analysis, is a fully automated process of developing a DNA profile from a mouth swab. This happens in 1-2 hours—without the need for a DNA laboratory or any human intervention and review." - https://le.fbi.gov/science-and-lab/biometrics-and-fingerprints/codis-2/rapid-dna

If you believe the equipment on NCIS, they can just scan the fingerprint and get an instantaneous answer.

But the person would have to be in a database to get a match. So why was this kid's DNA in a database?
Okay, I'll spit-ball this. The rifle purchase was recorded as being by his father when they ran the serial #. Then his father/mother had reported the kid missing earlier that day. So they grab a swab from Mom, Dad and "splat" with those three swabs you have all the database you need to confirm the identity.

I'll go for that. :yay:

Or Mom and Dad just give them his toothbrush.

Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Crooks wrote chilling online post foreshadowing rally shooting: report

Would-be Donald Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks wrote a chilling online message that hinted to sinister plans for the day he shot up the former president’s Butler, Pa. rally over the weekend.

“July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds,” the 20-year-old gunman allegedly wrote on Steam, a popular online platform where gamers communicate with one another, Fox News reported.

The foreshadowing message was revealed to US senators during a briefing with top law enforcement officials on Wednesday.

The News About Trump's Secret Service Coverage Just Keeps Getting Worse

Andrew Desiderio, senior congressional reporter for Punchbowl News, posted on X that according to two senators he spoke with:

  • The shooter visited the rally site a few days in advance to scope it out
  • 62 mins elapsed between the time the shooter was photographed as being suspicious and when he fired the shots
  • 20 mins elapsed between the time he was spotted by snipers & when he fired the shots—
"FBI Director Wray said there’s no known foreign nexus but no established motive as of now," Desiderio added, "Shooter used encrypted comms and had little to no social media presence."

Does any of this sound remotely believable to you?

"I’m told only four questions were allowed on the call, and that USSS Director Cheatle barely spoke," Desiderio said.

Fox News's Chad Pergram reported that Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) was "Completely unsatisfied" with the call. "It was a complete cover-your-a** briefing by the Secret Service. The director of the Secret Service needs to lose her job. This was appalling."

“He was identified as a character of suspicion because [he had] a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred,” Barrasso said. “So, you would think over the course of that hour, you shouldn’t lose sight of the individual. Somebody ought to be following up on those sorts of things. No evidence of that happening at all.”

This is why no one trusts the government anymore.

Secret Service was warned about, ID’d Thomas Crooks as a ‘threat’ 10 minutes before Trump took stage — but let ex-president go on anyway

Sources told The Post that Crooks was not described as having a gun when the warning went out.

“He was identified as a character of suspicion because [he had] a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred,” said Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.).

“So, you would think over the course of that hour, you shouldn’t lose sight of the individual. Somebody ought to be following up on those sorts of things. No evidence of that happening at all.”

It was previously unknown whether local police who spotted Crooks outside the perimeter of the rally had warned Secret Service agents in time. The new details confirm that the agency got the message, but failed to act on it.

Barrasso noted that the top Secret Service agent in charge of securing the rally was speaking to local police on the phone as the shooting took place.

He called on Secret Service chief Kimberly Cheatle to resign, joining a growing chorus of critics calling for her to leave her post.

So, going forward. Will Trump "fire" the SS and resort to hiring his own bodyguards and protection detail? Can he do that?

I don't know if Cheatle (Cheetos dust?) is dumb or brave by making an appearance at the RNC last night.

As the motorcade pulled up, the hospital went into lockdown. Rick pulled out his phone and videoed the scene as Secret Service agents got out and scanned the building.

In the video, the mood inside the waiting room is frought with angst and dread. "Oh, yeah, we were front row, and my friend saw blood coming out of his head," Rick can be heard relating.

"Oh, my God," a woman cries. "Oh, Jesus."

Then President Trump emerges from a vehicle. People exclaim, "There he is," and, "Oh thank God, he's walking."

"He's walking! He's walking!" Rick says excitedly. The mood shifts instantly from extreme distress to jubilation, and one patient can even be seen standing up out of a wheelchair to see the former president.
