SMOW or Snow for 1/6?

We have EV and ICE cars. Both AWD. Driving performance in slippery conditions is indistinguishable, even though EV is heavier. However, the cold weather zaps the battery life like no tomorrow.
Snow up over the bumper will stop forward progress of either vehicle,
I stocked up on TP, milk, and kitty litter. No need to go out and challenge Mother Nature.

I dont like snow. I dont like a snow job.... (grow up you old teenagers) I dont like any precipitation one has to shovel.....

but

I cant wait to see the EV's, even the cyber trucks get demolished by the piles of snow.
Why do you think it's going to demolish EVs? If you've got proper tires, it shouldn't matter.

If I had to shovel it would bother me a lot more... Especially since I have to clear a quarter mile of road.

Very conflicting info on snow totals. As posted above, up to 11" by some reports, 5-8" by a few others, and WUSA is showing 1-3".

I'm starting to think this might be far less of an event than predicted. Not the first time.... get all revved up over huge storms only to be very disappointed.
That seems to be the norm for SoMD. A lot of hype and end up with a dusting.

Okay, I sealed the coffin on this storm. Hauled the 100lb propane cylinder and LP550 Generac out of the shed. I'll test it here shortly. Nope, wont run the whole house, but will run the fridge and freezer and maybe the oil filled space heater for a day or so. Being a direct buried feed off of Rt 5, I dont see us being without longer than that. 13 years here and have never been out more than a couple three hours.

Lucky you. There have been times we've been out for almost 2 weeks.

One reason I wanted this place was that the power feeds from Rt 5 are underground. And SMECO of course prioritizes keeping the main trunks powered over side roads. Same for snow plowing. As long as I keep the private road that dumps straight onto 5 clear, I know we will always be good.

Was just going to comment on that. Upgraded from Watch to Warning. NWS is saying 5-8 up to 10-12. My weather app is still saying 5-8 during Monday with an additional 1-3 overnight. WUSA is still saying 1-3 total.

Going to be a surprise.

NWS is saying 5 - 8. The 10 - 12 mentioned refers to drifts in isolated areas, not overall accumulation.
