I had my second practice last night. Primarily worked our two step base blocking progression. Kids picked it up great! Who says little kids can't down block?

Also did some games like a three-man tug of war where the winner has to touch the cone in their corner of the triangle. Pretty tough when the triangle is 7 yards wide. Kids loved it, parents loved it. We had a great time.

Also, the SMYFL Equipment Commissioner was issuing some equipment to kids who still needed stuff last night.

Thanks. She's only 3 1/2 but she's 50 lbs and as tall as a 6/7 year old. I thought this might be an outlet to let her beat up some boys, I'm tired of her tackling me :killingme Guess we'll have to wait a few years.

I think if a girl signed up for anything above you would have to play her. I applaud girls willing and able to play tackle. Its men like you that girls wont do it. Some boys shouldnt play either but men push and push them because they want to have the next superstar athlete. You never know one day in the NFL there could be a female.

**Dude I got 2 daughters, hard as nails, but female in the NFL.....your really reaching!!

BUT this is the no drama SMYFL thread, so your more than welcome to check out Lancaster, Dorsey, and Lettie Dent, Mon-Fri (seen your other post) and check out the practices and make your determination. I would hate to see some boys let alone girls get tackled by some of the 80lb'rs out either.

When my oldest son played, there was a girl on one of the other teams. I think it was Division 3. She was as tough as the boys, but I don't think even she could make it through the NFL.

I would let her play in the little pee wee games, but I don't think I'd be really excited about seeing her out on the field with a bunch of teenage boys. I don't want her getting hurt, I just want her to burn some of the extra energy she has now. At 3-6, I think she could still put a hurting on some of the boys, but after that I wouldn't be so sure.

Do/did you let your hard as nails girls play? :popcorn:

Nope, it never came up, but the youngest is 20 months, so we'll see! LOL

In Southern MD I believe it. I've seen some girls here that are just scary. Go to the Celtic Festival and watch the woman's competition. :yikes:

I brought a kid up to get gear last night and saw that SMYFL still was hauling gear on the trailer. With no other leagues in Mechanicsville why cant you guys just put your stuff in one of the containers?
