Stray Friendly Young Boxer - HELP PLEASE

I initiated contact with several different rescues. Let's see, I contacted: Alan@adoptaboxerrescue.com, Roxie's Fund, Second Hope, and contact@boxerrescue.com . Like I said they all must be full, why else wouldn't they reply?

I have been the adopter of a dog needing help from a dog rescue in the past, but that was after they did all their temperament testing, etc. It was determined that the dog needed a home that could provide above all EXERCISE, and some firm obedience training.

That dog I had was very high energy, had fear issues, acted exactly like Boxy did at the vet, and I referred to him as my JRT on steroids (Rottie). Quinn (RIP baby) was misunderstood also. I now understand MORE about Boxy after today, and I agree with Catt that he is misunderstood. Quinn and Boxy could be twins with how they are so much alike in behavior.

Out of all the 'rescue' operations I have sent email in my life, exactly one responded. Rescue organizations can eat a dick as far as I am concerned.

Jam out with ur clam out
I dont believe this....poop has to be sent to the "lab"? What a joke! Every Vet I know does it in-house by the Vet Tech....!!

I also can not believe that you took him to the vet and he was not given any vaccinations..No rabies vaccine? that is crazy!

ah dear.. .I do hate to tell you that MANY vets do send out to have the fecal read..... they do use different methods to read the fecal and may even use a different solution to mix the fecal with.

how do I know this.... one of the vets I worked at send ALL FECALS out to the lab... and found that THEY do find more parisites than read in house.

and the vet I work at now will send them out from time to time.

Sorry, by the time I checked my messages last night it was too late to call. YES, I'd be happy to meet you Saturday so you can meet him.

Maybe Catt will just love him to pieces, and will take Boxy home for Christmas. That would be wonderful!! :huggy:

did catt leave her phone number on your voicemail? if she did you might want to try calling her as I bet she doesn't get on the pc everyday to see this.

My Sweetest Boy
Meeting went well. He's very handsome, young and a typical Boxer who doesn't see the point in listening. He needs training and definitely needs that eye looked at. He will need an owner that understands how to work with him. He's a good boy, and he is not aggressive.

I'm going to be helping Ark (along with another forum member) and we will get this boy vetted and ready for a new home.

Boxy loves to cuddle too - what a sweetheart he is! I am so glad we have a group effort to help this boy. His "man" issues don't appear to be deep-rooted, so I think he'll easily get over that.

He's going to be an awesome dog for someone with how smart he is. It's amazing how easily one can get attached to a critter (I am to Boxy). I will miss him when he leaves me, but I am confident that he will be in very capable hands with Catt and whoever else she thinks will be good for him.

One thing he has gained at my place is cat exposure. At first he would run after the cat, now he seems interested in sniffing, and approaches more slowly. Being cat-friendly is a big help for any dog <G>. He's not quite THERE yet, but he knows they sometimes will smack ya' - poor baby.
