Just like I'm the only one in my family who doesn't eat oysters. :barf:

A friend grew up on a farm and sometimes his choices for food don't match mine.

Well, if people ever saw how most of our food gets "made," they would probably not eat most of it.

It's all what you grew up with. What we're used to here is not "normal" in other parts of the country and vice versa.

So true! Link sausages, ground hamburger, pork chops, etc. My mother use to prepare all of the meat after a hog was slaughtered, so being accustomed to that in my younger life; it doesn't bother me.

Yes, a friend is the same way. He grew up raising and slaughtering their own beef, pigs, and fowl. It was just what you DID if you wanted to eat. It didn't come shrink-wrapped on little plastic foam trays.

I wasn't talking about the details of slaughtering. I was talking about choosing which parts of the animal to eat. Does your husband feel that there are certain parts that weren't intended for human consumption, like intestines? That's my concern about sausage, even though I love it.

Nope, when you're dirt poor, you eat it all or find somebody to sell it to that will. I've eaten a lot of things since I met him that I NEVER would have before, but I still won't eat liver.

Oh, he loves that, but I won't let him cook liver in the house any more. I even hate the smell.

He was in heaven the other day when we stopped at Bear Creek and their special was liver and onions. :lmao:
