I buy the cheapest and therefore, have to stay in for a full 20 minutes at least 5 days a week. :dork. I need to just spend the extra bucks for the bling-bling beds!
That would mean you would have to spend a little bite of money that you find so hard to do. :smack: But you will go shopping at ON and Target all the F'in time.

I like the color I get outta the stand up bed WAY better than the 20 min beds. They use some type of bronzing bulbs in the stand up bed. And I don't have an issue with "marks". The untanned streaks are ususally cause by old weak bulbs. I tan very easy. If I went for 2 months, I'd look Afro American :lmao:

You mean you're not?:faint: Could have fooled me.

OK, I must be missing something and admittedly I've never popped out a kid, but why do women get stretch marks in their thighs from having a kid... I can see stomach because of growth, or even breasts, but why thighs

:buttkick:

Because some pregnant women gain a lot of weight in a relatively short span of time.

Yes I did know that...

I have always wondered how come when I set a pot of water on the stove and turn the burner on high, about 15 minutes later the water starts bubbling and steam is rising from the pot.. Have you ever seen anything like that? Why does that happen? :jameo:

Stretch marks aren't exclusive to pregnant women. I think the majority of folks know that excessive, rapid weight gain can cause stretch marks.

Maybe not.

Being pregnant I haven't tanned yet this year. Dumb question I know but will tanning harm the baby in any way? I've thought of a standup bed but my mom is totally against me tanning right now and I didn't really know if it was safe or not? And if it is safe, what salon's in the Waldorf area have a standup bed?

I don't think they will let you tan when you are pregnant?

I wouldn't do it.

Ignore that mean ole mainman... here ya go, dems...

Why Do People Get Stretch Marks?

There are several different factors that contribute to the formation of stretch marks.

Heredity - Some skin is genetically prone to stretch marks Skin Type - Some skin is dryer with less elasticity than others i.e. dry skin vs. oily skin Weight - rapid gain or loss

Pregnancy - the weight gain associated with pregnancy Although some people are more susceptible to stretch marks, anyone can get them. Stretching of the skin during rapid weight gain or rapid growth (in young children and adolescents) is a major cause of stretch marks. The non-occurrence of stretch marks during one pregnancy does not necessarily mean stretch marks will not occur in another. Stretch marks are not gender specific - men and women are susceptible to these unsightly marks.

You don't have to be pregnant or fat or big to get them. As a matter of fact, it is a very common skin condition, but most people who have them are embarrassed by them and keep them to themselves, so they are less talked about or heard of.

The stretch marks related hormone activity mostly happens during:

Pregnancy

Natural growth for adolescent boys and girls

Rapid weight gain/loss

Depression or extreme unhappiness (unhappy, stressed and depressed people are more likely to get stretch marks)

Long term lacking of certain nutrients

Sudden change in physical or environmental conditions.

Certain medication may cause stretch marks also, especially steroids related medications.

Some salon/spas have a massage session where they also apply sunless tanner. I would think that would be a really relaxing treat with the added benefit of getting a little color, without any risk to your baby.
