The Price of Gas

I've never understood why people think they are paying more when the prices of most of the things bought are no less expensive in other places. LOL
I eat a lot of berries for snacks. They tend to be at least $2.00 more at Giant than at Aldi. 🤷

I don't buy a lot of fruit so you are probably right, but I do by a lot of green produce, i.e. lettuce, peppers, cabbage and other salad stuff, as well as meats, and the stuff at HT and Giant is worlds better than Food Lion or Wally world.

Only went into Aldis once to pick something up on the fly.

Well, that explains quite a bit.

I can get all of that there. Give it a try sometime. I did need capers and sundried tomatoes. I went to Giant for those.

Just sneakin' around....
Aldi has good quality red meat and chicken at much lower prices than anyone else. However, I get my produce from Giant. It's consistently better and lasts longer before I get to use it. I don't do my regular shopping at HT because it is pricier, but I do go there for things no one else carries. The sushi bar is always stocked and fresh. Kaiser rolls are better. You can get a $5 package of crab legs, cooked, cleaned and shelled. Pre-cooked duck halves (which are very good and an easy dinner). Near the holidays, specialty meats like pheasant. And it's the only local shop (that I'm aware of) that carries Russian dressing. Not Thousand, but Russian.

I was surprised by the price difference between Wawa in Prince Frederick at $3.35 and the Wawa in Dunkirk at $2.95 this morning. I stopped in Dunkirk and luckily they had the windshield cleaner bucket filled up and I could clean off my back windshields and windows. It seemed like no gas stations had full buckets lately.

Look at the employees of most "gas stations" and formulate an answer.

Yeah, both Giant and Harris Teeter are good for a lot of unusual things.

Actually found Rotkohl on the shelf in Harris Teeter, to go with the sauerbraten I made.

I figure that would be a staple at Aldi.

I wonder if I can talk my wife into having sauerbraten, spätzle, and red cabbage for Thanksgiving.
