I don't know about all that. Christy's then 12 year old daughter showed me how to use my first smartphone.

:yay: My kids show me! (you know, the teenager & young adult!)

Yeah, I keep up about as much as I need to make the gadgets I have operate and function the way I need them to. I try to stay up on at least the bare minimums, but I do need to consult with my more tecchie friends more & more often.

The iPad I bought two years ago for $800 is now an obsolete piece of garbage. The OS is 4.3 and every one of my apps except Kindle no longer work because they now only work with 5.0. Would be great if I could get the new OS on my current iPad but...OFW too bad for me.

I will never buy another Apple piece of #### again and I'm glad Steve Jobs is dead. Hope it was as painful as dealing with his bull#### machines is. ####ing 99% hippie bastards.

I am not sure if he is glad he is dead but i did stumble on his opinion of death. Taken from 10 great quotes from Steve Jobs.

As Bann would say, "JFC "

He is lauded as a genius for saying that, but if I'd said it I'd have any number of sob-sister Applehead liberal hysterics calling for my head. Life is so unfair.

You must have an old one, you don't have to use iTunes and synch for any reason.

You really don't. You also can't compare a 1st gen iPad to a new Android tablet.

My tablet came out in April 2011 and is still comparable to the Ipad 3, only advantage if any is the higher resolution. Biggest difference, the Iconia was $350 when I purchased it.

My question, why does it take apple so long to catch up to Android tablets and phones released over a year ago.

Because they don't need to. People will buy their stuff anyway because they don't know any better. Of course, that is changing. Android took a HUGE bite out of the tablet market in the past year (mostly because of the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7).
