Anytime I leave for work I drive down Airport road and hook a right to get onto 235. I must admit I start slamming on my god damned horn if they wait fo more than 60 seconds!
 I work back there and I don't wait 60 seconds if some goober decideds they want to park in the turn lane.

Did that one night coming out of Wally Mart, third car in line. Bubba in his pickup got must have thought it was the car in front of me cause when he finally took off, he swerved at the car a couple of times.

The merge lane is a good mile long (it actually wraps around into the WIldewood shopping center) yet for some reason people decide they are going to stop and wait for the cars a good 1/2 mile away to pass before they get onto the merge lane.

People do that crap everywhere (you can't merge while stationary!!) but you're right, that section of highway is the absolute worst. I used to live in Wildewood as well, and would try to make a right on 235 from Wildewood Blvd. Same crap every morning. And like aps said, you are very generous if you give them 60 seconds.

One time there was like a 5 car backup to get in that lane so I went down to the intersection (where your supposed to make a left or go straigth) and hooked a right. Stupid idiots!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Chainsaw Slayer again.
Guess I'll have to find 10 more people to give some karma to!

NOT Politically Correct!!
In New York City, drivers are trained to honk their horn within 1/8th of a second if you don't move!!!

That one is different, no concrete barrier at the start of the lane and a short merge area. It's illegal to brive on the sholder.
I go by there and see people parked on the sholder that think that's how to merge into traffic

And those are the people that raised my blood pressure to new heights every morning. I realize that you aren't supposed to drive on the shoulder, but neither should you park in the merge lane. Given that my car doesn't accelerate very quickly, if I run out of lane before I've reached highway speed, then I'm running the shoulder til I do. The other choices are to slam my brakes or cut off someone on the highway.

Also, long ago my insurance agent told me that it isn't illegal to be on the shoulder for short periods of time (such as going around somebody making a left turn), but if an accident happens while you are there, you are legally responsible since you were outside the designated lane.

Another horrible plae that pisses me off like no other is getting on Rt. 4 from the area around Wildewood Apartments. That back road that you have to make a left on to get to the BJ's area. Many times I have gotten so frustrated at the car infront of me I hook a right then pull a U'ey on the road. Damn people scared to drive!

I never go out that way unless I am going to Leonardtown. I always go out by Petruzzi's.

Yea, I tend to only go out that way if its late in the evening (i.e. past 7). But sometimes I like to gamble with it and try to see if I can.

If they step off the curb or are even on the curb facing the crosswalk, they have the right of way and you're required to yield (stop)

This also depends if they know what yield or stop means. Since I have moved back here after many years...I still see that people do not pay attention while they are driving. There seems to be alot of tunnel vision not only on the roads but also in the parking lots of the any stores in all three counties. I always make my daughter stop at any crosswalks when she is with me, and make sure that I have that person's attention in the oncoming car before we cross...but then again that does not mean anything around here.

Used to live in Leonardtown and considered getting a 8 ft 4x4 to carry with me when I wanted to cross the street at the crosswalk. Plan was I'd step off the curb with my 4x4 and then jump back and accidently let go of the wood

I hate to admit this....but when I was living in Lexington Park back in 92 to 93
My husband and his Navy buddies used to sit at the stop lights in their trucks and rev their engines while people where walking infront of them to make them walk faster...soon as that light was green the race was on....you had better not even be on the road...cause they weren't going to stop....and no, they were not drunk...they would do this after getting off work from the base...Yes, they would get really bored...let's face it there was really nothing to do around here back then and it still seems to be that way.
Thank God...I'm moving in another year...can't stand to stay in one place for too long.
