Actually, she speaks the truth with this one. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it myself. Seen one come out of the woods to speak to an officer in a car that pulled up to meet him, then they promptly parted ways again...officer with radio returned to tree line behind a sign and there was NO vehicle in site. These guys were determined today.

I believe you. I just visualized Lexi scanning the trees and bushes for cops with radar and radios.

What's wrong with setting the cruise control, and paying attention to traffic?

They can do this in force, but they can't/won't do anything about the
crime in LP City or GM or up in Waldorf or over in Calvert! The speeding
tickets look good on the final stats for the month. ("productivity") The
stats for vandalism, theft, carjacking, etc. are a "little harder" to come
by and require actual effort so they seem to take a "back seat".

Shame...LP City and area could be much better off with just a small com-
mitment of manpower to these problems. Especially after dark. Wonder
why they don't stop some of those DC cars and do an "equipment check"
or "seat belt check" on them? They MIGHT find more than they were
looking forand actually take a bite out of crime!

Nah! No revenue in that. Money is all in traffic stops. Be careful (and slow)
out there you all.

Maybe she figured that word got out about her and they had to resort to hiding from her?

I am so very blessed
Why aren't they out there at night when the kids are dying racing up and down the streets, or when the drunks are speeding up and down 235.. no, they have to wait until people are on the way to work during hours that are convenient to them.

Super Genius
I didn't see any between St Inigoes and Pax. It's a good thing too because toay was my first time commuting on the bike. I guess they needed them all to cover the high traffic areas so they can get more funds...I mean, catch more of those awful speeders.

...dying racing ...

Not even in Home Ec. have I experienced that. Must be quite a scene though! I can just imagine all those tie-dyed clothes and funky colored hands running amuck through the streets. Must be horrible!

They were definatly out this morning on Rt.4. I saw 5 traps. Yeah beware of the woods along side of Rt. 4. They were even running rader behind the sign that says Louis Goldstein Highway or something like that...I saw the one cop run back there to talk to the cop holding the radar gun. LOL

I'm right there with you.

Should there be rules against 18 year olds driving a Mercedes? That's a big huge hunk of metal to pull into a motorcyclist's path.

Slow down, be responsible, and enjoy life.

There's apparently an angry county officer who checks this thread:
I bet he didn't meet his quota...
I think it's ridiculous that they go to these extremes to catch people whose only "crime" is speeding or not wearing seatbelts.. They use the excuse that it lowers accident and injury rates, but it seems like most of us see through that BS. I'm convinced that the seatbelt law is there for to benefit insurance companies. Sure it's a good idea. Should you be harrassed and fined until you finally knuckle under and wear one? No. If they really want to lower accidents they need to get on the highways and look for drivers that are doing things that actually cause accidents. Tailgating, running lights and aggressive driving. If anyone had said many years ago, " lets create a police force to keep an eye on us and fine us if we do anything wrong while driving", I suspect they would have been run out of town.
Just my $00.02 :yay:

I don't think its rediculous... Its a good measure that's long overdue to slow down this rat race! Too many accidents...too many people going too fast. Too many idgots! Speeding is breaking the law, same as carjacking or selling dope.

I speed, and I fully intend to be caught one day...and when that happens I will be paying the fine instead of going to court to cry about some lame azz excuse.

You speed = you get tickets.

BOO HOO! :bonk:

I think they set up the enforcement every year when school lets out and summer begins. I seem to recall that they did this last year. Maybe it was when school started - a reminder that the kids/buses were on the road again.

I don't speed other than a few miles over. Apparently thats o.k... some law huh? I'm not saying it's o.k. to speed, just that there are other factors and they don't bother to address them because it's too easy to stand a guy out by the side of the road with a radar gun while his buddy sits in his car and waits. If they can get you for no seat belt...so much the better since we all know that not wearing a belt causes accidents right?

Horse Poor
There has been a trooper down in the Dameron/Ridge area. Near the Rod & Reel. He has some one pulled over every afternoon at 2:45 ish when I go home.

Why can't they put speed traps out on GM road for the county cops and state also, that fly low on that road. I have been behind them before and thier going 60. I figure if he can I can too..just daring him to pull me over for doing the same as he. If they don't want to abide by the laws why should we? The cops break more laws than anyone else on the roads.
