22 CFR § 51.7 - Passport property of the U.S. Government.
§ 51.7 Passport property of the U.S. Government.
(a) A passport at all times remains the property of the United States and must be returned to the U.S. Government upon demand.
(b) Law enforcement authorities who take possession of a passport for use in an investigation or prosecution must return the passport to the Department on completion of the investigation and/or prosecution.

They are only going to have holes in them if you've gone through the process to renew them. He has a diplomatic passport -- which is still valid for him to travel on as a former POTUS -- the brown one, and if his personal passport expired during his presidency and didn't renew, it may not have been hole-punched. But no matter if expired or not, passports are the property of the US government and must be surrendered on demand. They are not his personal property.

I wasn't a president or a Senators son and my outdated Passports have no punch holes, when i've renewed Uncle Sam has never requested my old out of date Passports.

One of my expired passports doesn't have holes punched, the other does. The one that does I renewed by mail, and I had to send in my expiring one. They returned it to me with the holes in it.

Im just the opposite, I renewed three months ago. Sent my out of date in also and it was mailed back in the same condition as it was sent in.

I'm not supporting or condoning the FBI raid, and it WAS a raid... but I can see something like this happening, as it might happen in any business:
Boss in his office not at the site: Take whatever applies to security.
Field Agents to each other: Ok. Hey, passports, that's security, right?
Press: Why did you take passports??
Boss to Press: We did not take the passports:
Field Agents: Uh, yes, we did.
Boss:
Why? Now I have to backtrack with the Press, again. Return them. Now.
Boss to Press: We have returned the passports.
Press: The ones you didn't take?

If there is a fair election in 2024, and that’s a big “if”, the democrats just committed political suicide With this raid. There will be more Americans backing trump than ever. If you pay attention they are after everyone associated with trump for various crap as well as trump supports who still remain locked up. Dark time for out country.
I would like to think that, but the Independents in the middle are squishy. I believe they could get fully behind a DeSantis candidacy, but will have to really think hard before pulling the lever for Trump. Mean Tweets and all.
Just my 2 cents that nobody asked for.
