Glenn Greenwald calls out censorship of dissenting views about Russia's invasion of Ukraine

"I think a lot of people feel really bad for Ukraine, and … don't think the United States should get into a hot war with Russia," said host Tucker Carlson, adding that that opinion "now qualifies as treason" in the eyes of many.

"This war is being used by domestic political actors to settle domestic political scores or am I imagining this?" he asked Greenwald.

Greenwald replied that most of the world is "horrified" at Putin's deadly attacks on civilians, but that "sitting online all day and denouncing Vladimir Putin and calling everybody a Russian agent isn't doing anything for the Ukrainians"

If I may ...

One would think with the millions of cell phones in Ukraine, at least some would be used by civilians to prove of such actions. Kinda like during our "peaceful protects" where everyone that had a chance, recorded anything they could and posted it for the world to see.
I regularly participate in a Russian forum online and a Ukrainian adoption group on Facebook, and the story is repeatedly the same, from every day folks posting to their RELATIVES in Russia -

They refuse to believe it. Live, or smartphone recorded material from their own relatives - and they refuse to believe it, declaring it fake.

What do they call it, "invincible ignorance"? They refuse to believe it. I wouldn't be surprised if they disbelieve any testimony from injured troops returning home.

Scott Ritter's Twitter Reinstated After Suspension Over Ukraine Remarks

Last weekend, Ukrainian officials reported the discovery of hundreds of dead civilians in Bucha, 15 miles northwest of Kyiv, a city once held by Russian troops. Moved to tears, Ukrainian President Zolodymr Zelensky accused Russia of committing a "genocide" in Bucha on his visit to the city on Monday. The United States and many other countries have also condemned Russia.

Anya Parampil, a journalist at Grayzone News, tweeted on Wednesday that Ritter had been suspended and screenshotted the social media website's message to the former UN official.

The offending tweet by Ritter, was: "The Ukrainian National Police committed numerous crimes against humanity in Bucha. Biden, in seeking to shift blame for the Bucha murders onto Russia, is guilty of aiding and abetting these crimes. Congratulations America... we've created yet another Presidential war criminal!"

Questions Abound About Bucha Massacre

Where to Start

If there were to be a serious probe, one of the first places an investigator would begin is to map out a timeline of events.

Last Wednesday, all Russian forces left Bucha, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

This was confirmed on Thursday by a smiling Anatolii Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, in a video on the Bucha City Council official Facebook page. The translated post accompanying the video says:

“March 31 – the day of the liberation of Bucha. This was announced by Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk. This day will go down in the glorious history of Bucha and the entire Bucha community as a day of liberation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Russian occupiers.”

All of the Russian troops are gone and yet there is no mention of a massacre. The beaming Fedoruk says it is a “glorious day” in the history of Bucha, which would hardly be the case if hundreds of dead civilians littered the streets around Fedoruk.

In Bucha, the Times was close to the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, whose soldiers appear in the newspaper’s photographs. In his piece, McCann suggests that Azov may responsible for the killings:

“Something very interesting then happens on [Saturday] 2 April, hours before a massacre is brought to the attention of the national and international media. The US and EU-funded Gorshenin Institute online [Ukrainian language] site Left Bank announced that:
‘Special forces have begun a clearing operation in the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region, which has been liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The city is being cleared from saboteurs and accomplices of Russian forces.’
The Russian military has by now completely left the city, so this sounds for all the world like reprisals. The state authorities would be going through the city searching for ‘saboteurs’ and ‘accomplices of Russian forces.’ Only the day before [Friday], Ekaterina Ukraintsiva, representing the town council authority,
appeared on an information video on the Bucha Live Telegram page wearing military fatigues and seated in front of a Ukrainian flag to announce ‘the cleansing of the city.’ She informed residents that the arrival of the Azov battalion did not mean that liberation was complete (but it was, the Russians had fully withdrawn), and that a ‘complete sweep’ had to be performed.”

In the media, or from governments, concerning Ukraine: Not one mention of:

1. Food
2. Clothing
3. Medicine

Instead it's ...

"weapons, weapons, weapons."

Disgusting.

NATO is a criminal, terroristic, offensive organization, and always has been.

Everyone involved in these weapons transfers + training will stand Tribunal within Russia.

Ukraine Has Joined NATO Whether Russia Likes It or Not, and More Are Yet to Follow

One of the bogus reasons that Vladimir Putin laid out for his incompetently executed invasion of Ukraine was to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Against all evidence and commonsense, he claimed that Ukraine’s membership in a defensive alliance like NATO posed a direct threat to Russia. Putin and his acolytes would have us believe that NATO has just been lying in wait for the chance to bring Ukraine into NATO so NATO can invade Russia or something. Instead, in something of a geopolitical “own goal,” the invasion of Ukraine has created a de facto expansion of NATO to include Ukraine, and a de jure expansion of NATO to include Finland and Sweden is only months away.

Thursday, the NATO foreign ministers met in an emergency session to discuss the war in Ukraine and, more specifically, how to keep Ukraine in the war. This quote is from my post titled, Game-Changing Weapons Begin to Flow to Ukraine After NATO Emergency Meeting.

For starters, the attendees were not only NATO nations; there were also observers present: the European Union, Sweden, Finland, Georgia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Ukraine. If Putin was afraid of being surrounded before, he should take a quick look at his map now (just a reminder that Japan and Russia still have an unresolved border dispute, see Russia conducts military exercises in disputed islands).

A very insightful statement came from Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, “I think the deal that Ukraine is offering is fair. You give us weapons; we sacrifice our lives, and the war is contained in Ukraine.”

Countries Flipping Toward Russia Since Start of the War

In the UN, though both votes were mostly symbolic and water-ed down, the number of nations voting with the US fell from a strong two-thirds majority of 141 to a less-than-majority of 93, in just a matter of weeks, revealing how the West's propaganda falters outside of its own media markets. A look at the nearly 50 nations that flipped sides, with some big names (in terms of population size, resource ability, etc.):

Afghanistan
Bahrain
Barbados
Belize
Benin
Bhutan
Botswana
Brazil
Brunei
Cabo Verde
Cambodia
Djibouti
Egypt
Gabon
Gambia
Ghana
Guyana
Indonesia
Jordan
Kenya
Kuwait

Mauritania
Mexico
Nepal
Niger
Nigeria
Oman
Qatar
Rwanda
Saint Kitts
Saint Vincent
Sao Tome
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
Solomon Islands
Somalia
Suriname
Thailand
Trinidad
Tunisia

Zelensky Warns Of ‘Endless Bloodbath’ Unless Outside Nations Send Additional Weapons To Ukraine To Stop Russia

“Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24th. Now it’s April. Ukraine counted on capturing Ukraine within five days. That was the deadline they established for obliterating our country and destroying our democracy. But they had no idea who they were up against. Russia didn’t know how much we cherished our freedom. We have been defending ourselves against Russia much longer than the invaders planned. We have destroyed more Russian weapons and military equipment than some armies in Europe currently possess. But this is not enough,” Zelensky said in the video.

The Ukrainian president also warned Russia will target nations throughout Western Europe if it is successful in his country.

“Russia still has the capacity to attack and not only against Ukraine. Poland, Moldova, Romania, and the Baltic states will become the next targets if the freedom of Ukraine fails. The images of Bucha and Mariupol have demonstrated real Russia’s intentions to the whole world. It could only be stopped by force of arms. It must be done now. Ukraine needs weapon supplies. We need heavy artillery, armored vehicles, air defense systems, and combat aircrafts. Anything to repel Russian forces and stop their war crimes,” he added.

Some of these weapons he wants are not so easy to use. Does he want tech trainers to come with them.

Where's the problem with sending both?

I'm thinking the NGOs are likely doing as good a job, if not better than, providing humanitarian aid.
