I just got a phone call, A guy from my work let us know his daughter was shot, he has been trying to find her since it happened, last I heard he was searching the hospitals looking for her.

I couldn't imagine.
He said he was notified that she was shot in the back, but he spoke with her friends and they said something about a head injury.

How horrible! Magnum, my heart goes out to your co-worker... and all of the other families affected by this. So senseless.

I'm probably gonna get baked for saying this, but meh...
Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people. I have never, in my life, seen a gun jump off of a table of its own volition and shoot someone. There needs to be a person on the other end making that choice. Yes, I realize there are accidents every day where someone shoots themselves or another individual, but I'm not talking about accidents... I'm talking about the conscious decision made by one individual to shoot another individual (or themselves). People kill people.

ETA: My condolences to your friend, elaine.

Foxnews was interviewing a doctor who was on scene as the victims were arriving and he said he did not see not one victim with less than three bullet wounds.

Hard to believe this insanity started with a domestic argument. So much pain. When I left yesterday 2 people were waiting to hear about relatives. They aren't in yet today, but I hope all is well for them.

I'll tell you what I hate most of all:

They keep showing the photo of paramedics carrying that dead kid out. I keep thinking about his mother and father seeing that photo over and over. It doesn't mean anything to the new dudes except for ratings, but a set of parents somewhere are sick at the sight of it.

It about makes me vomit.
Listening to Foxnews on my drive home yesterday, they were interviewing the father of one of the casualities of the Columbine shooting. He said that the authorities were not releasing the identities of the victims even though he called numerous times during that day, evening and night because his son hadn't come home. He was watching the news coverage early the morning after and spotted his son lying dead on the sidewalk in some of the film footage. That is how he found out his son was indeed dead. Him and his wife raced to the scene with evidence that they knew it was him, but the authorities would not acknowledge them. He said his son's body layed on that sidewalk for 27 hours before being removed. How horrific.

The college newspaper already has a partial list of the victims on their website:

You can pan down farther to catch a glimpse of students during the lockdown.

After looking through some pictures I see one of the "Drapers meadows massacre" What or when was that?
1755, Drapers Meadow Massacre
James Patton, with his nephew William Preston, continued to visit Drapers Meadow while pursuing his duties as surveyor in the new Loyal Land Company. He was also the leader of the Augusta County Rangers, formed to protect the settlers from Indian attacks. As competition for western lands between the French and English accelerated, the Indian harassment of settlers increased. Patton and Preston were at Drapers Meadows when Shawnee Indians attacked, killing several persons including Patton and Mrs. Draper, and carrying off Mary Draper Ingles with her two sons and Betty Draper, wives of William Ingles and John Draper. William Preston was on an errand away from the community and escaped harm.

Mrs. Ingles soon escaped and after an arduous trip with another captive returned to her home. Mrs. Draper and Tommy Ingles were eventually ransomed and returned to their families, but all moved to other fortifies settlements. The men, and those from the nearby German communities, kept their lands but moved their families to forts and spent much of their time fighting the Indians.

Any LE...

..types on here who can explain the thinking behind holding the shooters name for so long?

Is it to protect his family and give them time to prepare to deal with it?

To allow anger to cool? I mean, they're passing of BS like his face was shot off, therefore we can't ID him. They know damn well who it is and have for a long time. I'm fine with that, just curious.

Possible fear of retaliation.

Wasn't it because there was no ID found on him and they are still trying to get an ID?

...they said and it may be as simple as that.

It just doesn't figure to me that he kills two people in his own dorm and no one knows who he is. Plus, all day long, 'where's Henry?'.

Also, there must be some reason he walked across campus to that specific second building and hit those specific rooms. Maybe not.

How do they know the first shooting was from a domestic dispute if they don't know who he is?

All speculation but what I heard was that it was the dorm room of the estranged girlfriend, who knows? Secondly. ever think that after killing the first two he heads over to an engineering building (might be stereotypical, but what better place to look for another Asian male), shoots a ton more, exchanges outer garments with an Asian male, inflicts a wound that appears self-inflicted, places the firearms on this now dead soul and strolls out with the crowd.
