I am so tired of everyone talking about how everyone needs to be treated "equally"... We are NOT treated equally. I understand that African American citizens have ancestors who were oppressed... Where I used to work when someone got offended we said F**k em if they cant' take a joke.

Their being offended over the flag is a joke and people coming to their defense by the thousands is a sign of how crazy this country has become.
It's just another divisive issue that will drive black and whites farther apart.

Do not believe that because the Confederate flag is banned and unsold in stores that any attitudes will be changed,
Those attitudes just become more deeply embedded.

True, but this was a civil war between the north and south. Divided yes, but still within these United States. Perhaps the confederate flag represents to some, the fallen soldiers in the civil war that were from the south. Wasn't there some congresswoman from Arizona a few years back, that flew a Mexican flag in a parade in Arizona? Why on earth would we allow a Mexican flag to be flown, but not a confederate flag?

There was some stink raised about that Mexican flag. It wasn't right to fly it either. "Within these United States" should mean we all should be flying the American flag we all share. I've never seen a German, Japanese, North Vietnamese, North Korean, Iraqi, ISIS or even British flag flown as a statement in this country. Why allow one that represents (to me), the most embarrassing period in American history?

I'm embarrassed by it too..because we lost while having some of the best generals. But seriously, I do not have the slightest problem with not flying any of the various Confederate flags from public buildings. I do have a problem with the left's intent to erase history when they cannot re-write it.

I had a boss in sales once when I worked in Fredericksburg, Va and sometimes we would ride together to the company which we used to finance our products in Culpepper, I think it was. Anyway, along the way on our drive, we would drive by various and sundry Civil War Monuments. A good many.

He and I were both from Ohio, but he was actually born & raised there, I was only born there, as I was a Military Brat. The point being that neither of us was "from the south".

One day he said "You know with all these monuments you see around here, you would think they had won the war".
