Weird nasty bump

We're still on our 3 week lick granuloma drops, 2 times a day. I can't help but think that it's shrunk considerably. Which means what? I'll attach pictures. I know they're terrible pictures, but it's actually pretty much flush with her skin now, but no hair regrowth at all. So it's a flat, hairless spot pretty much????

WOW, it really does look good. It's definitly shrunk compared to the first photos that you took. I am curious...did the Doctor have you put her on some Benedryl?

Yeah, you don't find Molly without Remi close behind, despite the fact that he's a year and a half older, he follows her lead. Which is why we can't have Molly sick. We lost Chloe to cancer and Remi was devastated to the point he stopped eating, and was just completely lost. I can't imagine going through that again.

Just wondering... if the lump is gone does that mean the cancer is gone? couldnt it be below the skin too?

HI ! Well the lump is gone, but no hair regrowth. We have an appointment with the vet tomorrow afternoon to see whether she still wants to operate.

FINGERS CROSSED, maybe the vet was wrong

They are so CUTE! The bump is gone, and looks good. Maybe it will be awhile before the Fur returns to that area I would think. But that's something to ask the Vet tomorrow, along with your question about "If the bump is gone, does that mean the Cancer is gone too".? Keep a close eye to between the toes. My Friend's Boxer had it between his toes. It's been about 2 years, and he's doing fine. Good luck to you & Molly tomorrow.

Thank You, I will let everyone know after the appt. I am sure they will try and get more samples from that area, which I'm sure will be even more painful now, but it's better to know and go from there I think.

:starcat: well, we just got back from the vet. Because the tumor shrunk SO much in size, she (Dr. Craig) said she really thinks it is more likely a histiocytoma. She said both the MCT and the histiocytoma look very similar under the microscope but b/c it responded so well to the lick granuloma solution she doubted it was a MCT. I also asked about the drops and how I couldn't find any info on the any drops, she said that they make that solution there at the hospital and it's labeled "Lick Granuloma Sol" more for them to identify it for billing and that it consists of 2 different anti inflammatory meds. Long story short, she wants 2 more weeks on the Lick Granuloma solution and then take her off. If it has regrowth then... we will schedule surgery but she said again, she was very pleased with how it looked now :cartwheel

I'm glad to hear Molly responded so well to treatment.

I now have custody of my son's 3 year old boxer. I've had him for going on three weeks now. Two weeks ago I noticed a spot on his back by his shoulder blade. I thought he had a tick. It wasn't. This morning I noticed it has now tripled in size. I will need to make him a vet appointment. My question is: I recently switched vets with my older dogs to All Kinds. You think it would be ok to take him there? Anyone know if the vets there are good with boxers and these tumors? I'm praying it's not MCT, but need to get him checked to be sure. I've also been switching his food (he had him on Bil Jack sensitive stomach) to Earthborne which is grain free. Any chance this could be some kind of reaction to his food change?
