My question is WTH didn't they build south of the base and we'd have 250 less cars using 235 every morning and afternoon.

Because they couldn't get the density in RPD land south that they can from land in the First Colony/Wildewood PUD. Because there isn't water and sewer service down there, thus creating growth outside of service areas which equals that terrible bad word, sprawl...

It makes sense to put the projects where they did, especially if you consider that FDR Blvd will eventually ease some of the traffic conditions.

If you were asking a rhetorical question, I apologize.

Not exactly free, the money still comes from the paycheck, it's just immediately taken away, we never see it...
I don't know how much your not getting money wise from staying in base quarters but when m ex and moved here we rented for 18 months prior to getting a available housing unit. The rent and utilities we paid for a one bedroom apartment in 1989 were about three hundred dollars a month more than the allowances he received as an E4.

When we finally got housing it was substandard and we got to keep a third of what used to be his BAQ becuase of that. We finally got Glenn Forrest after being here for two years. The amount of money we saved was significant.

I wouldthink that these allowances can not have increased that much over the last 16 years that it would be more profitable for you to secure your own housing obviously if it was you would have already done that. So it would be
unreasonable to expect the military to let you keep these allowances and provide you and your family with adequate living quarters.

Nah, it makes sense to have all the people in one area. It will just make my commute more annoying so I don't like it. :lmao:

Do you think the new Navy housing being built behind Giant and Wildewood will have any kind of impact on the housing market?

They need to put up a 6 Flags up in the Mechanicsville/Charlotte Hall area.

Barring that, I think they should put up a Steak & Shake, a Chucky Cheeses, a mini-golf course and a Drive-In.

And a Food Lion.

There is never anywhere to eat in St. Mary's Co, Waldorf has a ton of places but here we can all stand and wait for an hour at Outback. Why?
