I've got a 7lb+ picnic in the slow cooker, rubbed down with my pork rub and brown sugar. Picked up a bottle of Duke's Carolina BBQ Sauce this morning while shopping for Mommy Dearest. Not bad for being "store bought".

I'm in the mood for a plain ol' grilled burger.

Fried chicken from the gas station, doused in Nashville Hot sauce. It was just like Prince's.

And matched my mood because everybody and everything is pissing me off today.

Chili dogs it is. With lots of diced onion and shredded cheddar. (and a little sliced jalapeno)

Pan seared baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, stewed tomatoes, broccoli and applesauce. Keylime pie for dessert.

Was watching a PBS cooking show, and they made a white clam chowder. Realized I haven't had a good bowl of Manhattan chowder in forever, so that's what I'm making now.

I punked out today. No cooking. Stopped at Chief's, ..... stuffed ham sandwiches for me.
Dessert was apple butter pecan bread (warmed of course) from my favorite Amish peeps with ice cream. Delicious.
I am going to miss that this winter.

Reruns on the pulled pork. The sauce is better thinned with cider vinegar, but overall a pretty good substitute for homemade in a pinch.

My son and his friend stopped in a steakhouse in Michigan for a wagyu steak dinner. Dropped a cool hundred apiece. Said it was indeed the best steak ever.
