We had a chili cook-off at the resort - I took second place

But honestly, I didn't vote for my own chili and wouldn't have even put me in third place. There was some REALLY good chili at this thing. And someone made bacon jalapeno cornbread that was ridiculous.

Georgia Shrimp n grits for me with a cab sav & fried chix n mashed potatoes for the wife. Lemon cake for dessert. It was all damn good! Wife said chix was best she had other than her mother’s.

I had a baked potato with french onion dip and bacon on top. I thought it was really good until I saw your pics....

When on sale for St Patty's day, I bought a bunch of corned beef (averaging about $3 ea) so today, another one goes in the crock pot. Still have cabbage from one we did up a couple weeks ago. Will add carrots and potatoes and will have a nice dinner waiting after splitting wood today. Leftover meat will probably be used for a couple of reubens or added to eggs for breakfast.

Smoked Italian sausage with grilled onion and peppers, cornbread muffins with bacon. The bacon cornbread sounded really good, so I just added some crumbled bacon to the mix.

Another great meal this evening in a different southern state. Riblets over collard greens as an appetizer with cornbread. Unicorn fish for me topped with fried yellow squash accompanied with risotto and broccoli. Wife had a chicken breast with a honey glaze topped with almonds and French fries and broccoli. Finished off with a great tasting cheesecake drizzled with caramel. 2 glasses of Malbec. Today we are celebrating 30 years of marriage!
