I already looked at ours - it isn't pretty at all... :ohwell:

Not too bad, but needs some scoopin of leaves. Prolly not a good idea now with the lightning.

Sort of irritating that because we have gone without rain for so long and I had not watched the weather so certainly was not expecting this, I put about 3 inches of water in the pool today cause it was low. Now I'll prolly have to pump some out tomorrow.

Whew! That was crazy, took the puppies out, could see the lightning and hear the thunder in the distance. I came in a not even 2 minutes later the wind was blowing so hard I thought it was rain. Haven't really gone outside yet but from what I can tell my pool and backyard is not looking pretty. I'm in Huntingtown and my oldest daughter was out, I called her to come home and she barely made it, was stuck in the rain & wind and there is a tree down out front, hopefully that is it. Good luck to all of you - I hope everyone fared well.

It wasn't as bad as I was expecting here. House creaked and groaned a few times. I'll worry about the yard tomorrow.

'Night all.

Bad here in La Plata. Snapped a bunch of poles right on 301, scattered them across the highway. Probably gonna be without power a while.

Over 48,000 people out of power ..... this will be several days before its fully restored .. and think about the guys and gals out there making it happen... they r the ones sweating their arse off to do it...
thought and prayers to all that don't have power .. and have damages. And to all the men and women out tonight dealing with the aftermath... hats off to all the fire and rescue personnel .. and the police.. and SMECO.... be safe!

Yes, power still out here on HWY 488. Phone battery almost gone. Bunch of trees and limbs snapped. Lost several trees again, but we're alive. Hoping SMECO restores power rather quickly but safely. I see that only a handful of people are on. God bless you all. Has to happen on the HOTTEST day of the YEAR. Got up to 108 while I was out working!

By far one of the most wicked wind storms I've seen. The rain won't be enough to do much for the ground, and the lightning was mostly cloud to cloud, but I've never before seen or heard wind do what it did tonight. Absolutely amazing to see it. Hope everyone is safe. :yay:

Not bad here, 1/2 inch rain, lots of trash (leaves, bark, pine needles) in the pool. Looks like maybe again tonight.

Did Baja lose power?

Oh, Baja! You find that jesus clip?

My pack thought I was gonna protect them if they got in the bed.

Not much sleep with a Springer Spaniel, a German Shepherd, and a St Bernard in the bed.

 Ever since our hangar got hit by lightning last year (and it fried all our appliances and then some), Dexter the spaniel mix gets skeered and shakes like crazy. I put him under the covers so he can't see the lightning and the trees flipping around. I swear if he could have climbed inside me last night, he would have!

I slept through it.

That's amazing. It roared like a freight train here in Swan Point. I have seen on FB that a few trees were down on 257 and on the road into the development. Somdweather reported that the Swan Point bouy measured 77mph gusts - I completely believe that. Luckily, we never lost power.

Reports today are that this storm (while in the area) was wider reaching than hurrican Isobel.

The Calvert scanner has been pretty busy with reports of trees blocking the roadways and a few power lines as well.
