I was the oral surgeon's dream ($$$$).

I had eight, yes EIGHT, wisdom teeth (2 top/2 bottom on each side). The oral surgeon had "never seen anything like this" and had to do TWO surgeries to remove them all (they couldn't keep me under long enough to do eight at once).

After the first surgery, I took the pain meds and ralphed all over my father and my comforter. After the second surgery, I took only Tylenol and did just fine. Make sure you use the warm water/salt gargle in order to prevent dry rot and you'll be fine.

Take it from a "seasoned" professional!

apparently having six is quite common. i just got my six out this morning, and when the doctor first told me about it, one of the nurses piped in and said that she also had had six. my doctor proceeded to tell me that he sees things like that all the time, and that the most he had ever seen was TWELVE. so eight really isnt that big a deal, and maybe you should use a different oral surgeon next time, because yours seems a bit uninformed...
