Shhh, dont tell, its a secret:yahoo: Posting from Winchester, meet owner tommorow at the dealership in Romney, WV, where he bought it back in October, then poor bugger had to have wrist surgery, cant handle a clutch anymore. Only 700 miles on it. Was not prepared to find one this fast, nor for the need to trailer it back.

Where the heck do you find a bike chock for a trailer on one days notice, and not pay a bike shop the %200 markup for a piece you might only need once every year or so?

Harbor freight to the rescue. Swung through Fredericksburg. Picked up a Haulmaster bike chock about $40 bucks.

I scrape the GW all the time .... Maybe I need a performance bike!

The last guy in that video wasn't sure about fording that stream.

I was scared sh1tless, had never done that before and the water was about 3 foot deep. If I thought I could have found my way back on several miles of fire road, I might have turned around.

... but I would have missed the adrenaline rush I had going when I got to the other side

WEll, got her, took a quick spin around the lot of the dealership, whoooooohooooo!!!!!!! Now she is out on the trailer hooked to the car, come home tommorow. Then slay the MVA dragon on Mon or Teus, thanks to flextime. Very nice ride, cant wait to actually hit the road on it.

Do you have your motorcycle license or are you taking the test at MVA?

Just tax, tag, and title:) Got my liscence back in 1981. Did my MSF course in 88:) Think I might take the advanced rider course this summer if I can find one. I will say that MD charging $75 for the "M" is a rip. No test for someone who is already liscenced like I was, only thing they do is hit one letter on the keyboard.

hooked up with the Stromtrooper guys in TN couple of years ago, that's where the water crossing video came from.

This months RIDER magazine has an article on outfitting a 650

GIVI bags rock, get some
Stock windshield sucks, I use a Windstrom, works great.
Goo Gone is good for removing all the lawyer stickers

Son asked, as we were driving home, and I mentioned that in the rearview the bike on the trailer looked like some evil techno-owl, "Dad, why do you buy such angry looking vehicles, when you're such a happy guy?":killingme

I do plan on at least a top box, and handguards, I'm going to give the stock windscreen a shot, I'm 5'8" and who knows, it might work for me. I signed up for Stromtroopers right before leaving to get the bike. Worked great, I was looking at that Harbor Freight wheel chock, and a member there was able to verify that it worked with the Wees 19 inch front wheel.

I figure on a lot of the stickers coming off, I have a heat gun with a lo setting. I'll leave the VIN and emissions and tire pressure ones, but all the yellow warning stickers are outta here. Now I just have to wait til maybe next week to get tags:cds:First new bike since 1981, and I have to put it in the shed for a week:cds:
