Just got back from a trip to McKays on GMR. Oddly enough, from my place on Chancellors, the route went through Arrowhead on the end on Indian Bridge. :yay:Motorcycle straight lines are not car straight lines. :lmao:

Just had a woman in the BMWBMW club drive 505 miles for a quart of milk.. AND made it back home within 24 hours of leaving.. If I remember right she left about 5AM and made it back home around 9PM..

BG knows that a trip to Raleys for milk or Chinese Food can take HOURS on a nice day (it's only 2 miles away)

Just filled up my tank today, got on 5 heading back to Webster from Great Mills.. Computer told me I had >300 miles to go until empty. I can do ALMOST 1000 miles with only 3 stops.. (and if on the interstate I think I can make it with only 3 stops).

Who's up for a 1000 miler in 24 hours?? Shy Girl, I know you'll man up!!

300 miles a tank? I was wondering how that bike, which is a tank compared to mine, was going to outrange mine, which has a large, comparatively speaking. 5.8 gallon tank. Looked it up, a 7.1 gallon tank? Wow. Thats like a Paris-Dakar class tank......

Steady cruising, you should get about 50mpg.
I got mid 40s last weekend 2 up with the side bags on
(48l GIVIs with the aerodynamics of a barn door)

Yeah, occasionally I think that I should have gone for the Adventure with its 8.6 gallon tank...

Oh, and if your guage is anything like mine, it will drop like a rock when it gets below half-way.

Around town with all the 'luggage' I get mid 40's, I can bet on mid 50's cruising on the interstate.

Can't imagine sitting on the seat between fill ups for 350 - 400 miles. Of course at 90MPH that translates to only 4 hours..

Hope he's feeling better. I know stuff like that can take a while to get back to %100.

I think that he's almost back to 100% ~ small aches and pains come and go, but that's to be expected.

Congrats on your new wheels! When are we gonna ride?

I did ~750 miles each way to/from Huntsville last fall. It took ~13 hours each way. If I were to try for the 1k in 24 hours, I'd do 500+ miles, take a long rest (sleep if possible), and then do the rest of the 1k. However, I would rather take two days to do that 750 mile trip and give myself time to stop and see the sights along the way or take some of the more interesting roads instead of the highway for miles on end. Doing that long distance/short time really isn't that fun.

Yeah, instead of trying to do an Iron Butt ride, I was gonna ask for the Lard Ass version... :lmao:
