'Your Position Is Clear': Musk Responds to Black Lives Matter Pro-Palestine Posts After Hamas Attacks​

"As Black people continue the fight to end militarism and mass incarceration in our own communities, let us understand the resistance in Palestine as an attempt to tear down the gates of the world’s largest open-air prison," BLM Grassroots, which represents dozens of Black Lives Matter chapters in various cities, wrote in an Oct. 9 post on X, formerly Twitter.

"As a radical Black organization grounded in abolitionist ideals, we see clear parallels between Black and Palestinian people. For lasting peace to come, the entire apartheid system must be dismantled."

At the same time, a BLM chapter in Chicago posted a more supportive message of Hamas, which has long been a designated terrorist organization by the State Department. It stated, "I stand with Palestine," and included an image of a parachuting individual with the Palestinian flag.

His statements came after former State Department official Mike Benz, executive director of the Foundation for Freedom Online, pointed out that NewsGuard partnered with the European Union to develop its new disinformation codes and helps the body combat mis- and disinformation in a post to Musk’s X, formerly Twitter. The recently amended EU guidelines can fine companies up to 6% of global annual revenue or even ban them in EU countries.

According to its website, NewsGuard “provides transparent tools to counter misinformation for readers, brands, and democracies.” Its team of “trained journalists” collects and updates data points on “35,000 news and information sources” and catalogues “top false narratives” spreading online. With this data, the company gives out “trust ratings” to these websites and flags what it characterizes as mis- and disinformation in the process.

NewsGuard has partnered with the U.S. State Department, the Defense Department, and the World Health Organization to combat what it claims is COVID-19 misinformation. According to Benz, NewsGuard has put news sites out of operability by placing them on a Coronavirus Misinformation Tracking Center blacklist. An archived page from its website highlights some of the most prominent purported COVID-19 myths propagated by these sites.

Interestingly, it did not address any of the “myths” propagated by mainstream outlets about COVID-19 or the vaccines, such as when the media downplayed or tried to discredit the lab-leak theory as a conspiracy theory, which NewsGuard described as “unsubstantiated.” In fact, the Department of Energy and FBI have said the "lab leak" theory was the "most likely" origin of the virus, according to The Wall Street Journal.

In 2020, NewsGuard began a partnership with the National Security Innovation Network, which is a joint State and Defense Department program dedicated to finding solutions for the agencies to track disinformation narratives. NewsGuard boasted of its collaboration with the government in a press release saying that its “human intelligence approach proved a unique and valuable offering.”

NewsGuard offered the government access to its database of journalists' ratings of news sites across the U.S. and Europe. It also provided its "Misinformation Fingerprints" database, which is a catalogue of “known hoaxes, falsehoods and misinformation narratives that are spreading online.” The press release describes part of NewsGuard’s process. “We ‘prebunk’ many of the leading hoaxes by having already signaled that the source is suspect,” NewsGuard general manager Matt Skibinski says in the press release.

Several people have pointed out this conversation between Joe Rogan and Twitter owner Elon Musk. There are a couple of interesting aspects to the conversation; one of the more interesting is not generally being noticed.

The primary point, raised by many, is how Elon Musk discusses the scale and scope of U.S. government involvement in the operation of Twitter as an information and discussion platform. Almost all of those making this note are unfamiliar with our multi-year research and outlines long before Elon Musk entered the picture.

As affirmed during the conversation, the FBI and various government agencies, under the auspices of the Dept of Homeland Security (DHS), were in a direct relationship with Twitter offices to control information on the platform. This is not a surprise to CTH readers. The instructions on content removal, content moderation, and demands to remove accounts, were part of the DHS broader initiative to control information. Elon Musk Calls Out Evil Anti-American Action Against the Flag by Anti-Israel Protesters​

I wrote earlier about the wild, anti-Israel protest in New York City on Friday, that at times turned into a riot.

Among other things, they fought with the police, they tried to kick in the doors of Grand Central Terminal, blocking the regular people from being able to go home on the train. They even attacked a bus with UFC champion Jamahal Hill in it. That sure looked like terrorism to me.

But they also did something else that was disgraceful and evil, particularly on Veterans Day eve. The mob was at Lexington and 43rd, within blocks of the UN, where they had American and UN flags on a pole. One of the radical rioters climbed the pole and started ripping the American flags down. He threw at least two flags to the ground, and replaced them with Palestinian flags, as the mob cheered below him. You could also hear the chant of "Takbir!!" which is the call for "Allahu Akbar." In this context, one might interpret that as a call for victory over the U.S.

Musk revealed on Tuesday alleged internal documents from Disney, showing what he characterized as the “mandatory, institutionalized racism and sexism” in Disney’s inclusion standards. Stunningly, Musk followed up with a major promise: the individuals whom Disney discriminated against will receive legal support. “Here is the full racist, sexist, etc discriminatory set of laws enforced by Disney’s DEI Gestapo,” Musk said, also sharing a screenshot of the alleged Disney document. The purported document showed Disney offered preferential treatment to “underrepresented groups” and other victims of DEI.

The alleged documents require that “50% or more” of actors, writers, and other employees of Disney productions “come from underrepresented groups,” while placing other discriminatory burdens on potential productions.

Despite these requirements, which Musk called “laboriously vile” and “illegal” the other documents strenuously deny that this decision will harm people who do not belong to an underrepresented group. The documents gaslight employees by arguing that removing “systemic barriers” will achieve these mandatory goals. The same documents claimed that productions are “encouraged” to hire job candidates who lack the needed experience.”

In other words, move out of the way, we’ve got to reach our 50 percent quota.
