They attacked us, and we attacked back. There would have never been a war if they hadn't hit us first.

This is one style of war the US has never fought before, so it's continually evolving and changing as new information becomes available. Just like when WWII first began, the US stayed out of it as much as possible, until the War was brought to America by the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Many citizens may not want this war, however, the majority of our elected representatives decided this was the best course of action. We can't live in fear and we can't stand idly by while bad things happen.
