They don't show the spacer there. I only found 1 picture online that was similar, and I think I posted that one already.

I'm due back in emissions by early Nov. so I have to get the front end done by then (already had 1 extension). So after that I need to find 4 16" wheels, sell my 15" wheels, and buy new tires.

When I bought the truck at 3 years old, not being a "guy" I didn't notice it had 15" wheels on it when specs call for 16". I'm pretty sure the prior owner or the dealer liked the 16" wheels that were on it, and swapped them out (the whole truck was customized). So I'd like to put 16" wheels back on it, but I want nice ones that won't cost me a lot - or maybe even a swap of my 15" wheels and some cash?

Yup took the offending part off and went to Auto Zone for identification. The problem is you get the part new, but it doesn't come with the stuff that goes in the center (bolt, washer, and spacer). The bolt and the washer are fine, it's the spacer that got chewed up somehow (see prior pictures).
Okay, the bolt, washer, bushing which the bearing rides upon that sleeves the bolt. Check Advance Auto, factory air pulley bushing.

Once you have spent $450 or more you are eligible for a waiver. The below is taken from the MD MVA site.

To apply for the repair waiver, you also must complete and submit to the VEIP station the repair waiver request (on the reverse side of the vehicle emissions inspection certificate) and the original invoices, receipts and/or repair orders for the emissions-related repairs. A Station Representative will visually inspect your vehicle to verify that all emissions equipment is present and that the repairs you paid for were completed.

Federal and state laws may not allow the costs of repairs to the exhaust system, beyond the catalytic converter, to count toward the expenditure requirement for a repair waiver. Repair waivers are not issued if any emission control devices are disconnected or removed.

If you have not spent at least $450.00 on repairs at the time of re-testing, your vehicle will need to be repaired again and undergo another test. You will be charged for each additional re-test, after the first re-test which is free.

you did not understand the question

WHY are you replacing the 16's ?

do you have some love for 15 inch wheels ??

No, factory specs were 16's, someone put 15's on it before I bought it. I want to put 16's back on it because I use it as a tow vehicle, and I don't get good performance on the 15's when towing

Putting the wrong wheel changes the gear ratios, the power/performance curve, fuel economy, shifts at incorrect times, odometer reading is wrong, etc........

Exactly, which is why I want to return it to original specs.

The tire circumference is what matters as far as the odometer/speedometer readings, easy to figure out what size tire would compensate for the smaller rim size.

IMHO 1/2 inch in rim size is not going to make a difference it is the tire size that matters ...
..... none of the Tire Size vs RPM Algebra Formulas online look at rim size

now when I went from 29 inch tires to 32's ... that was a big change

I should have scrolled down a little further

(Tire Size x RPMs) / (Gear Ratio x 336)

30*2000 / 2.71 x 336 = 65.89 Mph

if you need to convert Metric to inches ...

(Sectional Width / 25.4) * Aspect Ratio*(2+Rim Size)

235/25.4 * .70 * 2+15 = 28 inch tire [27.95 rounded up]

I had Perelli Scorpions on it for many years - over-sized ones at that - would have to look at the old tire to see the actual tire size though. I am pretty sure that same tire in a 16 wouldn't fit in that wheel well range though.

Ark, you are a jackie of all trades. I am impressed on how much you know about so many things, and are so self sufficient. And, you still find time for the critters! :huggy:

I have had to be resourceful for many years to get things done. My lack of money to pay the full price for vehicle repairs has caused to me to seek out less expensive alternatives that produce quality work.

So now the front end work that Tires Plus said would cost me $1,490 is actually more because (per my side mechanic), they missed listing an expensive part called the Upper Control Arm (left one is broken), and the Gearbox.
