5 Year Old Temper Tantrum

Happy Camper!
I think there is already a thread for this story but not sure.

I personally do not have a problem with the way this situation ended. The mother was called on numerous occasions for this child's behavior and for this specific time, she was at work and could (I think would) not leave until 3 to come get her brat. If the kid acts like this in public you know she does it at home and gets away with it. My child would never spit or hit at anyone and get away with it. I think the mother should be reprimanded as well for raising such a demon child. Could you imagine if your child was in class with this girl and she acted like this on a regular basis?

The top of the head hair snatch-and-yank accompanied by the forehand/backhand face slap combo always straightened me right up. Oh, I forgot schools are all faggy now.

Lord, I apologize.
I have a misbaving kid and let me tell ya, no amount of kicking her ass seems to help. :ohwell:

I want to hug that little girl. :frown: She obviously is out of control and doesn't know what to do about it, and that's supposed to be the adults' job - to guide her with a firm hand instead of chase her around arguing with her.

Calling the police because a 5-year old child won't behave! What kind of teachers do they have at that place that can't control their class and have to call a cop? The part where they handcuffed her about killed me. Frigging idiots.

I saw the video last night.. and the kid was trying to beat on the teacher, the teachers hands are tied, if she did ANYTHING she and the school would have been sued.. WHAT choice did they have? I think catching it all on video was the best thing they could have done to protect themselves. If a five year old is acting like that to a teacher, what the hell are the parents teaching her... or was it not because it was a "teacher" trying to tell her what to do, but for other somewhat obvious reasons??

I've found that a quick grab of an ear and just hold on till they calm down works wonders.

They need to bring back the ability to discipline in the classroom. Kids being able to act like animals is just absurd and out of control anymore.

The kind of teachers that--by law--are unable to exercise any sort of authority to either restrain the child or use physical force to stop her. If that teacher or assistant principal had so much as grabbed that girl's hands and held them down (while the brat was punching her!), you know as well as I that the school district would have been sued by that horrible excuse for a parent. Can you imagine if that little girl had fallen off of the table and broken an arm? Oh, the how the law-suits would have flown!

I'll be the first to say that many of the teachers in the country nowadays are unqualified to serve me fries and a coke, much less provide children with an education, but I think that the ones in that video handled the situation to the best of their legal ability.

That child's mother should live the rest of her life in utter shame for having raised a hellion like that. Judging from the kids performance in life thus far, I'd say that the handcuffing is something she should be getting used to.

:yeahthat:

Bob's right. The school and teacher did the best thing they could, given the circumstances. If it were a high schooler acting unruly and the cops were called, no one would bat an eyelash.

My sixth grade school principal had a big paddle -- and used it!

 Ahhh the fond memories of getting whacked upside the head with a dusty chalk board eraser while gazing out the window.

Send her my way - I have a knack with kids.

Kids that act like that are trying to communicate, they just don't know how to do it effectively so they pitch a frustration fit. Smacking them around doesn't work and calling the police is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. You have to teach them to stop and think about what they're feeling, then teach them to express it effectively. Which is hard to do when you're frustrated as well and just really want to smack the #### out of them.

Those stupid teachers could really make a difference in that little girl's life if they put their minds to it. As it stands, they just want to chase her around, mouthing touchy-feely inanitites, then call the cops. :ohwell:

Yes, but by calling the police and having THEM restrain her, they haven't done anything illegal.
Oh I totally agree with you, just wanted to add so others could better understand the character of the wonderful mother
