Just saw a news snippet on NBC 4 on this. They spun it as the HORRIBLE police arrested a sweet lil girl. :burning: Doreen Gensler couldn't believe they did this!! :barf: Gawd I HATE the liberal, twisted media!! :burning:

Don't look at me, man - I can't believe they did it either. :ohwell:
I can. She was warned from previous incidents that it would happen. I watched all of the videos. The news conveniently left off the parts of her tearing things off the board, screaming at the teacher, jumping on the table..... Hey BadGirl, where's that dart gun??

Is there a synopsis somewhere in this thread? I don't want to watch a video or watch the news. :lazy:

This lil holy terror of a kid throws a tantrum for an hour yelling, screaming, hitting teachers, tearing up offices & classrooms, whose poor excuse of a mother refuses to come get her when called and was told during a previous incident (by the police) that she would be hancuffed if they ever had to return and they did but they all treated the lil monster with kid gloves & gently handcuffed her when in fact her lil ass should have been torn up with a flyswatter then a baseball bat taken to the moms head for raising a lil hellion like this.

:yay: :diva:

Smacking them around doesn't work
:yeahthat:, at least in my experience. My son does not respond to spankings, if anything, it fuels the fire of a tantrum. We just remove him from the situation, and let him cry it out. When he's calm enough to listen, we explain "how it is", and he listens. Then he's fine.

Don't forget that the only time she paid any attention to an authority figure was when the cops walked in and handcuffed her.

Tough subject. On the one hand, she's five, and what has her life been like up to this point to make her act like this? We are a product of our environment, so she must have it rough (which is not an excuse for acting like that). On the other hand, what about the other 20 or so 5 year olds in the class who were probably in danger and either scared or confused? I'd say take the kid away from the mom, who obviously doesn't give two shiats about her anyway if she didn't come pick her up, and get her some help.

BadGirl

I am so very blessed

Dagnabbit, I can't find my dart gun. However, I do know where the bow and arrow is in the shed. I'm out of practice, but I'm sure that I could nail this brat to the ground in no time.

I still believe that a child - even a child of 5 - knows appropriate behavior from inappropriate behavior.

Of course they do. As K_JO pointed out, she behaved the second she saw the police.

I think it's the fact that she refuses to accept the teachers' authority, as well as her parent(s). She's seen what the police do to people who act dumb, but has never witnessed her teachers or parent(s) punish someone.
