#1 There would be no "separation" if those people didn't leave where they came from = We didn't deny them that. THEY did it to themselves.
#2 We do not owe them blankets and toothbrushes (which are definitely NOT human rights) = We didn't deny them those. THEY did it to themselves when they left their blankets and toothbrushes behind when they left wherever they came from.
