But, my, aren't you the defensive one.
Yes maam' I am! I have given 2A the benefit of the doubt and afforded him "grace" on many occasions in the past. If you find it interesting that he posted an article about Amber Frye and what a Sleaze bag she is, then that's your business!

Just like Sam Spade said.... I won't pass muster. I will also not sit back and read some hateful article about how FOS Amber Frye is when the author doesn't know anything about her!

P.S. My adulterous past has been dealt with through my Husband, God and myself.

Wether 2A thinks I am Hell bound or not changes nothing in the grand scheme of thing. Still pizzes me off.

But if you think his thoughts on the matter are without Biblical merit and his opinion is unworthy of your attention, why does it pizz you off?

Just asking, not being smart

Did I condemn you? Show me where. I don't know your state with God.

To the person that gave me this red karma
So, what’s it like to be perfect? I wish you would get the hell off you fricking high horse you 10oz drinking, gun touting, bible thumping know nothing azz clownin retard. God is going to be pizzed at you.
I don't drink 10oz and I will be glad to match my intellect with yours at any time. That, of course, would require you to reveal your identity. If God is angry with me, that is between Him and I. It has nothing to do with you. God bless you.

I don't know..... Maybe I'm scared of the idea that you cannot repent. That no matter how sorry you are or how much you read the Bible or go to Bible study you are still a sinner and unworthy in the eyes of God.

Maybe I am not as strong a Christian as I should be and maybe this whole thing is just to much for me to handle.

Then don't. The point the author was trying to make is that Amber Frey is NOT the Snow White that the media is trying to make her out to be. I don't see where he impugned her testimony in the slightest.

The Bible does not say that nor have I. The Bible says just the opposite. It says all are sinners and fall short of the Glory of God but God has provided the way of salvation for those that accept it.

I don't even give the article that much credit. I feel what this pastor is trying to say is look at the mistakes Amber made time and time again and that had she lived her life on the guidance of the bible, she proclaims to read, it "might" have been prevented.

Kain, Just remember that Jesus loves you.

I've made as many or more bad decisions in my life as others. I'm not perfect. Only one has been and is perfect, Jesus Christ. I'm forgiven.

Jesus loves everyone. He does not want anyone to be lost to satan, but it is our decision.

I think this one statement is the basis for alot of the angst with Christianity. It is not "easy" or "fun" to be a good Christian in accordance with the Bible so many of us don't. It is easier to discount the message or the messenger than to accept the shame of living like a heathen.

It is human nature I suppose to resent the messenger or the mechanism when the message is not what we want to hear.. Who are we mad at most of the time when we get a speeding ticket? Ourselves or the trooper?

I've only had one speeding ticket in my life, but I remember feeling stupid and irresponsible for not knowing the speed limit on that road (40 instead of 50).

I have a few tickets under my belt, over the years, and I have been asked, why didn't you just :gossip: your way out of it, because simply put, I deserved it. I knew what the rule was, drove down the road recklessly everyday and knew before hand that eventually I would get a ticket if I didn't modify my behavior.

I think he was saying that she made mistakes in her life and that even though she says she reads the Bible she has not learned from it or the mistakes she has made. Nowhere does he challenge whether she actually reads the Bible nor does he say anywhere that she is going to hell. He tells pastors that there are lots of Ambers and they should not water down the message. I don't know if Amber has ever said when she started reading the Bible. Maybe she just started and will find God's path. I don't know.

We all start somewhere. We don't just say, "Jesus, I'm a sinner. I am sorry. Please forgive me." and become mature Christians never to sin again. The first admission of being a sinner and asking for forgiveness is only the first step. The process is not over until the day we graduate to the hereafter. It is two steps forward and one step back for our entire walk with Jesus. It is a continual process for Christians of recognizing when we sin and asking for forgiveness. I've been so far down sometimes I know He is carrying me because I couldn't walk spiritually.

Well, I'm confused then. So really you're saying you are much like Amber, a sinner who reads the bible? So your thread title is rather useless. Might as well have said "2A claims to read the bible" and we could have had the exact same dialog.

My experiences with Christianity never felt like that to me. Even when I was a little boy, the religion always seemed like it demanded absolute, unforgiving perfection, like one mistake and I would be doomed to hell. It always seemed like asking for forgiveness was an invitation for God to laugh in my face. It always seemed to present a view of God's love as conditional.

As far as me being a sinner who reads the Bible and Amber being a sinner who reads the Bible, we are the same. I don't have sex out of marriage, so we are different there. Also I am not promoting any book other than the Bible so there is another difference. If she has accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, then she is forgiven just as I am. Forgiveness is open to everyone.

Since I am not a celebrity like Amber has become, I doubt that the discussion would have been quite so intense.

 I do not know how you could have possibly missed the one most important principle of Christianity. That is really bizarre
