Another Jack Russell coming?

Thanks for the additional pictures - hopefully that'll be enough to get them interested.
I'll pass along; no promises though.

I planned to get some "naked" full body pictures of her yesterday, but it didn't work out. I'll try again later today. I know seeing a dog in a frilly pink coat doesn't exactly show off the dog.

Lacey is suffering due to lack of one-on-one attention. I had her bed in the kitchen with me so she could be close enough to talk to while I cooked. She really craves human closeness. I hope we find her a home soon.

She may not be as young as 5 as the previous owner was told. If she is older, it could inhibit an adoption unless someone purposely was looking for an older dog.

can dogs cry?

Who knew dogs can cry? They can right? Or is whimpering a ploy?

I looked at Lacey in passing yesterday as I was rushing to get critter chores done. She sat down and looking at me and whimpered a little and it looked like she was crying. I felt bad and went over to her and she started wagging her little cropped tail and it looked like she was smiling! I understand that Lacey desires human interaction, but I just don't have time to stop and sit still. I do walk her, and she gets very excited to walk. She acts like she's going on a huge journey, and she's as happy as can be to go out walking.

She's not big on walking through puddles though. She likes to keep her feet clean <G>.

Miss Lacey again and she says:

I like walks and sunsets. I like people a lot and hope I find a new home soon.

She's a beauty - I can't believe she hasn't found a home yet.

She is such a sweet little girl. I can tell how sad she is when no one has time to spend with her. We try to walk her and interact with her, but aside from what is necessary, she doesn't get much extra attention. She's so tiny at 11 pounds, and she eats all she wants, so she's not a piggy girl either.

If you take in a husky puppy, I will run right up and get the doggy from you.

I'll keep that in mind. One of the kittens we adopted out went to be a buddy to a husky mix dog with blue eyes. Those two bonded pretty fast. I was kinda worried that the dog may go into prey mode but apparently after I left the 2 did great! They picked from about 5 kittens we took there to meet the dog - we were sure which ones were not gonna take easy to the big dog LOL, especially the kitten that I was holding - it saw the dog, clawed me and bit me to get away OUCH - the life of the rescue person - um remind me, why am I doing this? :sarcasm:

Arkie, every time I think about this dog, my heart aches. If I could convince my husband to take in a third dog, she'd be with us, but we have our hands full trying to housetrain these two chi's. He'd kill me. It seems to me that you truly want to find her a home, have you thought of putting some pics of her on Southern Maryland Animals FB page?

She is there now. She has been here long enough to cause everyone who cares for her to now be attached to her. But the help of another dog depends on Lacey moving on, so I have to keep reminding everyone if that.

The pit bull Clinton that came in with her went to TN at Thanksgiving to meet a potential adopter, they asked to adopt him but a few weeks later had changed their mind. We really need to get some fundraising going so we can get Lacey and Clinton both vetted as neither was spayed/neutered in the past.

We were going to get them vetted just prior to each going to an adoptive home, and have the adopter pay Humane Society for the bill. It has been months, so we need to go forward and get them vetted as soon as we can get funding.

Maybe somdanimals can help with the kitties too? .

As soon as I get word on the work schedule I'll let you know which day. I cut off her access to the outdoors so I could get her used to letting someone know when she needed to potty. So far so good  . However, sometimes I think she just wants to go for a walk (smart little girl).

What a day so far!

Lacy met her new family, including her new doggie sister and her new kitty brother, and a variety of extended family members including grandchildren, and her sister and brother-in-law. Whew, Lacey will probably be taking a needed nap this afternoon.

I always said that Lacey was a sweet girl, and after the usual initial awkwardness, she seemed fine with the doggie. The cat left the room, I guess it was too much excitement? That cat is gorgeous! SHELLY I want one lol.

Speaking of naps, after that huge Bruster's ice cream cone, I could use a nap  .

Let's all cross our fingers that Lacey will fit in. IMO Lacey needs love, and that family seems well-equipped to provide lots of love :yay: .

Somewhere in this thread I believe I mentioned Clinton the Pit Bull that came with Lacey. He is still available. Unlike Lacey, Clinton LIKES to play with other dogs, and he is very lovable.

Clinton is in a foster home in Waldorf where he regularly plays with other dogs . We will have updated pictures of him soon.
