“If it’s so ‘uninvestable,’ then why is NYC home to some of the most billionaires in the world?” AOC babbled. “This is what billionaires do. They leverage their power to gain platforms and spread unsubstantiated claims to push policies that are even more favorable to them than they already are.”

Um, “some of the most billionaires”? What does that even mean? But this is typical AOC. She babbles incoherently, but won’t listen to what business people are telling her about reality. Then that last sentence of hers — substitute “politicians” for “billionaires” and it would be more truthful.

Also, having a home in New York isn’t necessarily the same thing as putting the business there. But the truth is that residents, not just businesses, are also fleeing blue states like New York, because of the taxes, the crime, and the horrible policies for places like Texas and Florida. I wrote about that on Friday, when Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), AOC’s fellow socialist, tried to throw down with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

She and her socialist fellows are clueless. But the people are letting them know—they’re voting with their feet, as they flee.

Those billionaires may spend time there, but their businesses are incorporated in Delaware and their home addresses for tax purposes are in Florida.

This is why, it's generally stupid to try and impose a state "millionaire's tax", expecially when they have several homes.
They can just declare a different one their home. Instead of getting MORE money, they end up with less.

AOC: Tax the Rich, Except for Me

The investigation of AOC is focusing on her famed appearance at the Met Gala, which the New York Post says is “the world’s number one social event for the rich, famous and beautiful,” in Sept. 2021. The UK’s Daily Mail reported Monday that “AOC’s anti-corruption lawyer told the congresswoman’s team that she could attend the event, but only if she was listed as being a guest of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and not as a guest of event organizer Vogue magazine.” When you’re an elected representative and your “anti-corruption lawyer” tells you not to do something, you shouldn’t do it. Unless, of course, you’re AOC, and the rules are for those who aren’t favored mouthpieces of the elites.

AOC’s corruption watchdog gave her this warning because “the attorney feared that if she were listed as a guest of Vogue, she could be in violation of congressional rules which prohibit representatives from accepting gifts from companies that use lobbyists which Vogue’s parent company, Advance Media Publications, does.” In blithe disregard of this warning, however, the intrepid champion of the people “accepted a pair of $35,000 gala tickets and was listed as a guest of Vogue the night of the gala, but that the following morning staffers began pivoting to say she was a personal guest of Vogue editor Anna Wintour.” As if all that weren’t enough, AOC also “managed to pay a mere $300 for her $1,300 dress emblazoned with the phrase ‘Tax the Rich’ — along with the hours of design work, fittings, and styling — and then took months to pay back the paltry sum.” AOC’s true credo is clear: Tax the rich, except for me.

AOC Pledges to File Articles of Impeachment Against Clarence Thomas

According to a ProPublica investigation, Thomas’s close friendship with real estate developer Harlan Crow afforded him the opportunity to join the Texas billionaire on extravagant trips aboard his private jet and yacht, as well as benefit from complimentary stays on Crow’s numerous holiday homes, among other freebies. Thomas reportedly failed to diclose the vast majority of this hospitality.

In a statement on Thursday, Thomas described Harlan and his wife Kathy Crow as “among our dearest friends,” but pledged to follow the guidelines in the future:

As friends do, we have joined them on a number of family trips during the more than quarter century we have known them. Early in my tenure at the Court, I sought guidance from my colleagues and others in the judiciary, and was advised that this sort of personal hospitality from close personal friends, who did not have business before the Court, was not reportable.
I have endeavored to follow that counsel throughout my tenure, and have always sought to comply with the disclosure guidelines. These guidelines are now being changed, as the committee of the Judicial Conference responsible for financial disclosure for the entire federal judiciary just this past month announced new guidance. And, it is, of course, my intent to follow this guidance in the future.

AOC, meanwhile, has repeatedly criticized Thomas’s presence on the court. In 2021, she joined a handful of House Democrats in calling for the resignation or impeachment of Thomas over his refusal to recuse himself from cases related to the Capitol riot that occurred on January 6, 2021.

“Clarence Thomas should resign,” Ocasio-Cortez said at the time. “If not, his failure to disclose income from right-wing organizations, recuse himself from matters involving his wife, and his vote to block the Jan. 6th commission from key information must be investigated and could serve as grounds for impeachment.”

AOC Calls On Biden To ‘Ignore’ Texas Judge’s Abortion Pill Ruling In Unprecedented Move

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ordered the FDA not to approve mifepristone due to an ongoing lawsuit challenging the safety of the abortive pill.

Despite the Biden administration announcing plans to appeal Kacsmaryk’s decision, Democrats like AOC have called on the president to merely ignore the decision.

“The interesting thing when it comes to a ruling is that it relies on enforcement. And it is up to the Biden administration to enforce, to choose whether or not to enforce a ruling,” AOC told CNN.

The New York Democrat said the Biden admin should just “ignore” the ruling, claiming the ruling was illegitimate.
