If anyone gets in touch with Redneck Woman before I do, please tell her to check her PM's. Much of what she has described sounds eerily(sp?) familiar to me, as I have Hydrocephalus (Water On The Brain); not Meningitis. [I can help this lady.]

Save the "Water Head" jokes please. I've heard 'em all.

At 12:18, she was reading this thread, I'm sure she'll see your post.

Well....we haven't heard from her in awhile so hopefully everyone here has lit the fire under her rear and she and her son are now at Children's and a answer/cure is soon found. :keepingfingersandtoescrossed:

Maybe she just left it logged on?? I know, I know. Ever the optimist. God.. I hope I'm right for her little boy's sake.

If that were the case, the time stamp would remain the same, and it wouldn't show that she's looking at different forums.

I still feel for this woman and what she's going through but she DID say that she went to work today...so chances of him being at Childrens are slim to none right now

In My Opinion
long shot but,
has he had a tick attached anytime in the last few weeks that you know of?
search is body for a bite area, it might have a bullseye type discoloration around it.
have the doctors check for lymes diesese.

In the meantime you all have my prayers.

Great point! There are numerous tick diseases that could wreak havoc on a 7 year old.

Starting Over
Goodness we go from prayers, good luck to putting me down. Oh well!!! I am a good mother and don't need praise from other people to feel that way. I am a single parent of 2 boys and I can guarantee you I do more and spend more time with my kids then a lot of parents put together. Just because I am not jumping at everyones wishes, doing what ya'll tell me to do does not make me a bad mother. Opinions are like a$$holes and everyone has one.

Anyhow, when he finally woke up this morning he got up out of bed with know problem (which was very surprising to me) went into his brothers room and told him to get up. He proceeded to go downstairs to eat breakfast and has complained of know pain. Has been playing PS2 and watching TV. I just can't believe has he could have been in so much pain yesterday and no pain today.

I did however go ahead and make an appt. with Children's with a neurologist, Dr. Scheller. His appt. is 9/02/08, when I see his primary doctor I am going to see if he can't get him in sooner.

I haven't talked to his primary since yesterday morning. He told me to go to the ER, that they would be able to do more for him faster than him. The pain meds aren't really helping. He still has very hard time getting up and laying down. I have to craddle him, lift him up very slowly and when I lay him down, I craddle and lay him down very slowly. He still screams and hollers, "It hurt's mommy, it hurts!"

That was a very fast turn around.

I check him just about everyday for ticks and have found none. I am not exaggerating when I say I check him everyday for ticks either. After he has taken a bath/shower I lotion him down every night with baby lotion.
