When I was a practicing drunk it caused BIG problems, not with my beliefs as much as with my ability to be close to Christ. Had I allowed booze to become a larger influence in my life than it already was (i.e., a "god), one of the less obvious results would have been losing my ability to effectively do things for Him. It's still a weakness I have to fight with every day, and some times are easier than others.

Wanna go catch a beer sometime?

I wouldn't know anything about that scenario, so no.
Uh huh. That's okay - you can deny it all you want but everyone on this forum who knows you is laughing.

If they were feeding people into the ovens, sure. As it stands, fundamentalist Christians don't even bear a passing resemblance to extremist Muslims or Hitler. It's ignorant comments like yours that belie your protests that you're only trying to converse. It's pretty obvious that you're really trying to attack religion and 2A in particular because you have some boner against him.
Well, I somewhat agree.. but when any religion says they are the only TRUE religion, and all others sould be cast out.. or are lesser beings.

That's kinda the driving force behind "kill the infidels"

it breeds hatred and contempt.. it was Christians who killed 6 million Jews... and it started as "talking"

Jesus said that in Matthew's account of the sermon on the mount.

He was saying that there are those people that will not accept the word no matter what. Even if you give the word to them as smooth as a pearl, they will not have any appreciation for the word just as a dog has no appreciation for a pearl. So to answer you, yes, Jesus said there are those that cannot and are not worthy of being taught.
But the most unholy and unrightous are in more need of being saved......... You don't go to church to find a sinner..

Sweet, he left it up to you to decide who's worthy. Did he teach you any of those magic tricks he use to do?

Q: Who died and made you god?

A: Jesus. :lmao:

 Peanut? :lmao:

:bs: I'm not trying to attack religion; I stand by my first post in this thread where I stated that I view the insistence that there is only "one god" as unaccepting of other's beliefs, and that it's not promoting any sort of acceptance of how people are different, and I provided examples as to why I saw it that way. I further (in the past and still) maintain that anyone who is REALLY trying to spread a message of christianity isn't going to get very far by using a "holier than thou" or "my way or the highway" sentiment. Let's be real here ... the only reason (I see) to "spread the message" is to get others on board that belief system. People like me (who struggle with those beliefs) are the targets, are they not? Well, the target is telling the shooter, "Hey, hey, I'm over here and I like this kinda bullet!", but the shooter is aiming in a whole other direction using an arrow. Not very productive, wouldn't ya say?

It was Nazis that killed 6 million Jews. History is your friend. Just because someone calls themselves by the name Christian does not mean the really have a relationship with Jesus and are a Christian. I could call myself Bob but it would not be true.

Actually it was Nazis who killed 6 million Jews, not Christians. There was no worldwide Christian jihad against Jews.

Yes you do. True Christians know they are just sinners saved by the grace of God.

You could add more to the conversation if you had ever actually read the Bible and were familiar with it. And don't say you have, because you wouldn't ask so many stupid questions and say so many ignorant things if you had.

And I'm glad I'm not a Christian because I can say whatever I want without the likes of you pouncing on me and going, "Uh uh uh! Not very Christian-like of you :nono:"

You would be so lucky!!

BUT again as above.. WHAT is a Nazi.. A nazi was a political party... it's not a religion.. Why were the nazis so attuned to the biblical .. Like the Arc of the Convenant etc?

but one only has to read from his own writings to appreciate that Hitler's God equals the same God of the Christian Bible. Hitler held many hysterical beliefs which not only include, God and Providence but also Fate, Social Darwinism, and ideological politics. He spoke, unashamedly, about God, fanaticism, idealism, dogma, and the power of propaganda. Hitler held strong faith in all his convictions. He justified his fight for the German people and against Jews by using Godly and Biblical reasoning. Indeed, one of his most revealing statements makes this quite clear:

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."

Raised as Catholic he went to a monastery school and, interestingly, walked everyday past a stone arch which was carved the monastery's coat of arms which included a swastika. As a young boy, Hitler's most ardent goal was to become a priest. Much of his philosophy came from the Bible, and more influentially, from the Christian Social movement. (The German Christian Social movement, remarkably, resembles the Christian Right movement in America today.)

The Nazis were a political party. Made up of predominantly Christians, more than likely, but religion had no bearing on their actions. Hitler didn't say "We do this in the name of God." He said, "We do this in the name of Aryan purity and ethnic cleansing." He might have tossed God's name in there just to get the sheep in line, but religion was not his motivation in bringing about the Holocaust.

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.

-Adolf Hitler, in a speech on 12 April 1922 (Norman H. Baynes, ed. The Speeches of Adolf Hitler, April 1922-August 1939, Vol. 1 of 2, pp. 19-20, Oxford University Press, 1942)
