Nope.

If there is plenty of room to get out of the way, let the lead foots go. Heck, let one in front of you and speed up and let him get the ticket while you make time.

Or just get out of the way. Let them go.

We have this infantile desire to control one another. "I am going the speed limit! They should NOT be in a hurry!"

Let them go. You can relax and and they are gone.

:buddies:

I completely agree. It's a 'control' thing.

You road ragers, I swear....

I got stuck behind a rolling road block going up to Hughesville last Saturday. As I started getting impatient and thinking cusswords, I distinctly heard Aps laughing his ass off.

What's your commute, 30 feet?

Those of us who learned to drive with slower traffic keep right laws really can't understand why people cannot be considerate and just let others pass. Both the rolling road block and the rager behind them are at fault.

I was taught that my driving should affect other drivers as little as possible. If they want to pass, let them. Just because I have a right to do the speed limit in the left lane doesn't mean I should.

I have no issue moving over to let a jackass go by, but I should not have to feel obligated to. My point is that if they are the ones breaking the law, then they should have to be the ones to inconvenience themself by driving around me.

Why is staying right except to turn or pass an inconvenience?
Hopefully you shouldn't have to stop what you doing in order to drive

Glance in your mirrors, extend a finger on your right hand and actuate your turn signal, quick head check to make sure there is nobody next to you and a slight turn of the steering wheel.

If people would stop worrying about those who speed, and trying to block their progress, there would be a lot less road rage. Hell, I try to do the speed limit all time, but that doesn't mean I need to try and make everyone else do it.

Lead by example.

As far as I know Md does not have a keep right except to pass law. They should but since they do not she was not breaking any law. Just being an inconsiderate driver.

You are correct. MD does not have a "keep right except to pass" law. It should though. When I saw the title I was glad she got a ticket. After reading the article, it's apparent that the ticket will be thrown out either by the States Attorney or the judge.

Power with Control
Someone should not have to drive the speed limit. That speed limit is set at a maximum based on safety standards for that portion of the road. If someone wants to drive the maximum or speed, they can find their way around the car or slow their ass down. But, that's just the way that I feel. I know that I get damn sick of people riding my bumper because I choose to drive 55 mph in a 55 mph zone when I have kids in the van and would rather not have increased insurance rates because some jackass is in a rush and is trying to push me up the road.

That isn't really true. Most of these roads are designed to handle speeds upwards fo 90mph. It is the uncertainty of the other drivers which causes the slower speed limits.

No, they are not.

Okay, quick lesson in two things. One is how speed limits should be set, the other is in how they are set. Rule of thumb is that there should be a traffic survey, and the limit set to what the 85th percentile drives. But here in MD, they appear to just use a "Residential street =25", or rural two lane = 40". Take Willows Road, 40 is just silly slow, except for two patches.

It's a safety issue. Since most of us learned that slower traffic should keep right, that's where most slower drivers go. Now we have you bopping along in your MILFmobile jamming out to Justin Beiber, oblivious to those around you. Someone wants to go around you, so they hit the right lane and end up behind the considerate person who understands that slower traffic should keep right.

Why is it so difficult to be considerate of other drivers? Just because you have a right to impede traffic doesn't mean you should.

As I've said, I do stay in the right lane unless I'm getting ready to make a left turn ONLY because I hate when strangers ride my ass. BUT, I should not have to.

Listen to what you are saying; They are a 'jackass'. Not late. Not in need of a pee break. Frantically trying to get to a gas station. A 'jackass'. That's just as bad as being the 'jackass' and calling the slow poke who doesn't feel the slightest inclination to step aside a 'jackass'. Except for one thing; if you can get over, WHY NOT??? Why do you care, at all, if they are in a hurry? They are certainly NOT impeding you in any way.

I just don't understand the argument. If you are doing the speed limit, stay to the right. If you want to pass, do it in the left lane. Everybody wins?

You don't 'have' to. Sounds to me like you are not part of the problem. Sounds to me like you're not one of those people who make it a point of pride to go EXACTLY the speed limit when people are on your butt.

Slower traffic, keep right.

Define "slower"- here in Solomons area where the right lane ends on the North end of the bridge, 60 is apparently not fast enough for some of these arrogant young pups who think that left lane is meant just for them. I dont and wont move either, ticket or not.
