OK you are just doing this to cause problems :lmao:

Nope.

Buell guy, the owner, said he LOVES the belt. Zuke guy, no belts, says belts don't last long and O ring chains are the best thing in the history of man.

Harley guy said "Who ####ing cares? It's a Harley..."

:ding: If you like the bike who cares? All 3 have pro's/cons, none of which are deal breakers. Have ridden all 3 and other than some noise from the chain you can't tell from the seat which is which.

OK boys;

shaft, belt or chain?

Shaft - lowest maintence but highest friction losses
Belt - not as strong as a chain, but lasts longer. A squeaking belt is VERY annoying
Chain - best performance but requires cleaning, lubing, regular adjustment and replacement every 15-20K miles.

Whos wieldin..oh, sorry, wrong forum.......

Anyway, I do like the lower maint aspects of the belt and shaft. Never owned a belt drive, have had a couple of shaft drives and a few chain drives. It wouldnt be a dealbreaker for me over any other thing.

Nothing Smoother/ quiter on a bike than a shaft..

:ohwell: I've gotten the shaft a few times myself......

I mean....

Had chain and shaft. Chain requires constant attention, adjustment as it stretches, lubing, and if not protected, it's a limb cutter. You can also feel lurching from a chain when it needs attention. Much prefer a shaft drive, quiet, smooth, hardly any maintenance.

2007 and up Buells have lifetime ZERO MAINTENANCE belts.

Two bikes, both belt drives, never had one squeel, break, vibrate or require any maintenance of any kind.

The oldest belt is 12 years old and it has a groove worn down through the center of it from :embarassed: a bolt that I lost. That happened 6 years ago.
