Her breeding days are over. We originally were going to breed her one time. But now this. One thing does not have anything to do with the other.
Ok :yay: well i hope everything works out. Your friend should really think long and hard before she decides to get any more animals.

I'm confused, is the issue that she needs the operation to live, or so she will live AND still be able to breed? If she gets spayed, would that take care of the problem? I would try to find her a new home. People like that, shouldnt have animals. I am sure someone would take her and be willing to pay for her surgery, so many people out there who love animals, AND have money.

Surgery will save her life. She will not be able to have puppies ever. Us wanting to breed her did not make her sick, it is genetic. And people with money who love animals is why I posted in the first place.

Why not take her to the spay & neuter clinic that offers discounted rates rather than a vet hospital?

RR say neuter wont do a sick dog..a pussy (thats pussy not pussy) uterus if that is what she has (pymetria) I had my older boxer Maryland spayed when she had pymetria and it was like $800 you do what you have to do...I spent at least $750 or more in the last 2 weeks for these babies..you do what you have to do when you have animals..thats the facts.

I haven't researched what pymetria is. I was only making a suggestion.

Good news!! Just talked to my connection. Owners signed dog over to the rescue. Veterinary care was begun. She does not have pyometra. Not exactly sure what she has...something more gastro related.

The vet that came to put Angel down today got out of her truck and went in the gate, bent down and scratched Wee behind the ear. He followed her all over the place "smiling" at her
Wee is so cute! I saw his picture somewhere that you had posted it.

I don't understand some of you. Just because they don't have the money for the surgery does not mean they don't love their dog and a lot of vets won't work with you on a payment plan. It seemed like you all thought the dog was abused. Who knows Maybe I just read it wrong.

I can only speak for myself, but if you can't afford medical care for a pet, isn't it rather selfish to have one? How hard is it to put money away for an emergency or purchase vet insurance? And if you can't afford to do either of those things, then you're probably too strapped to have a pet in the first place. JMO.

:yeahthat: It's like buying a car, not making the payments then pitchin' a fit when it gets repo'd. :cheesy:

I do agree though ... if you can't provide adequate care for a pet (food, shelter, veterinary care, etc), you shouldn't have one. Same goes for kids. :ohwell:

People will have emergencies (break a bone, car accident, etc.) and most of the time insurance will pick up a good percentage of the cost. However, usually there will be some kind of payment the patient is responsible for. I had to make payments on my bill for surgery because I couldn't afford the $2K at one time. Does this mean I shouldn't have my cat? I mean, obviously I can't pay my bills, right?
