Dinner

I finally ate a little of that today to see what chicken parm is supposed to taste like and I actually think they're pretty similar and mine might be just a little better.
The only way to find out what chicken or veal parm is supposed to taste like is to either make it yourself or go to a good Italian restaurant. Sorry, but I really don't care for the pre-made stuff, only if I'm desperate.

Agreed - my curiosity was if the stuff I was making was anywhere near what real chicken parmesan was supposed to taste like and the fact that it was very similar to the frozen stuff tells me that it probably wasn't. I don't even understand why it's called chicken parmesan when most of the recipes call for far more mozzarella than parmesan.

Good Italian restaurants in New York I would imagine.
The video I shared of the Chef Pasquale's Eggplant Parmigiana was just how I learned to make it - which is from my mother and she learned from our neighbors in Italy. He's got a lot of nice recipes on his FB page. https://www.facebook.com/OrsaraRecipes/

Real truffle oil? I heard some big discussion on Below Deck about truffle oil, fake vs real. I have got to try that someday if nothing else to assuage my curiosity.
I don't know. My sister gave it to me. I'll check the bottle next time I get up.

I'll have to look that up one of these days. I like my eggplant parm, but my dad threw up the last time I made it and that hurt my feelings enough not to make it again. I can't get past the part where I fry it anymore. That pizza on the website looks awesome. Does he have bruschetta on there, have you ever tried that?
Not his recipe, but I've made it before. :yay:

I've only seen it on Everybody Loves Raymond - it's rolled meat or something like that? And steak pizziola - that's mentioned all the time on it, never even heard of it except that show..
This is Bruschetta -

I second this post. I wouldn't know real Italian food if someone dropped it in my lap. I made shrimp marinara with a jar of Bertolli for supper last night. It won't win any awards, but it's edible.

Unbeknownst to me, last night must have been "Italian Night" because my dinner was spaghetti with spicy Italian sausage with a mushroom, green pepper and onion marinara.

That's what we had for dinner last night....but it was country ham. I took one down and soaked and boiled it last weekend. Was awesome too...

Giant, Walmart or BJs depending on what's available.

Last nights was Johnsonville, I think. Not great but not bad.

I wish Woods produce was still open. They used to make it right there and it was great.
