I just read through this thread and it is making me sick. Let me give you another perspective on this. You know what buisiness owners(like veterinarians) hate? People like you who have had '22 years of service, never had a problem, great pet care' blahblahblah, and then the first damn time they don't get their way, they quit that vet and go on a public forum and bash them. Did it occur to you that maybe they were full, dealing with 50 other people JUST LIKE YOU with pets JUST LIKE YOURS?? If they have been so good that you stayed for 22 years, then why not be an adult and resolve it with the doctor, not the snotty receptionist? If she was really nasty, since I am sure you were not an angel on the phone. And for all you other whining fools, instead of trying to get the vets to write you prescriptions to order stuff, and refusing to get vaccines cause they 'are just the vets ripping us off', here is another little piece of advice- If you can't afford to give your pet great care, DON'T GET SO DAMN MANY!bresamil said:I have used the same veterinary service always. It was used by my mom for her animals and everything was great so I also used them for all of mine.
The pup is not feeling well so I called to make an appointment. They could not give me one until next Tuesday. I asked if I should just do a walk in. She said they don't do those anymore.
I go home - pup is still not well. I call back - I've been a customer for 22 years with my own animals, never owed them money, always pay in cash, loyal client here. She checks and says I haven't been in for some time so they won't squeeze me in. I say the animals have been healthy so no need to come in until now. She says they won't see the dog. Given its not a matter of life or death but I prefer to catch these things early on, before it becomes a problem.
I say "So you're telling me to give my money to another veterinarian?" She says (in a very perky tone) "Yep". I say "I'll let your doctor's know you said that". She says "Okay".
I called a different vet and I'm leaving in a half hour to take the dog to her appointment.
I'm writing a letter to my regular vet, informing them of their receptionists desire to get rid of longtime customers.
And furthermore, don't wait until the last damn minute to call the vet, then get all pissed off when they won't drop everyone else to 'fit you in'. Somebody said the puppy was coughing up blood. Well, did that go on for days or was is brand new? No vet hospital is perfect, just like there is no perfect pet owner or client. Stop your #####ing and take some responsibility. If it is not an emergency, they don't HAVE to fit you in, and interupt the schedule they have worked out, and make everyone else who had a legit. appointment have to wait.
And you can keep your stupid red karma, I turned the damn thing off!
