I am against greyhound racing (I don't even like horse racing).

Are you against greyhound racing, or just against the treatment while they're being raced? The dogs love to run, so I see it as beneficial. That said, I don't like them being raced on the track, kept in little cages, and being unloved.

Florida tracks tend to be much worse....

That's really sad to hear. I went to the tracks when I was very young, and enjoyed the races. At the time I had no idea what went on behind the scenes, and to be perfectly honest, it never even crossed my mind until I met someone a few years ago that owns a greyhound. Boy, did my outlook change. But I digress...all outward appearances indicated that the dogs were well cared for at the track in Daytona. Maybe it was different then, before PETA. I know that PETA is part of the problem, though. They didn't want the dogs raced as often, so to meet the race schedule, they had to have more dogs.

We have used 3 Notch for 22 years. My experience with Three Notch was always good UNTIL Saturday, March 10, when my dog was sick. No answer. Answering machine said to take the dog to Annapolis if it was sick. I thought my dog was dying. I called around and St. Mary's took her at 2:00 p.m., even though they were closing at 3:00. She was dying. Vet stayed until almost 5:00 to do the tests and allowed us to take her home until Monday when we brought her in to be put down. The vet cried on the floor with us. She had NEVER seen the dog before the previous Saturday. The only complaint I had was they told me to bring her in at 9:00 and we had to wait more than an hour to have her put down. That was painful, but we did get the extra time with her and walked her around outside. Would I use 3 Notch again? Not on your life. I couldn't get a phone # to call when I KNEW the dog was dying. I would have taken her there and met the vet. They have NO emergency #'s on their answering machine. St. Mary's pulled thru for us.

I've never had a problem like that at Breton. They have always fit me into their schedule and have always called up and checked on Allie after I have taken her in there whether it be for shots or anything else.

I love Breton...same here....no matter what time of day I call, they do their best to fit me in...and they always follow up with a call or a letter.

Would not go anywhere else.

I don't like the racing, Because they are more like cattle than pets. I wonder if AKC Greyhounds have as strong an urge to run?

I work for a fantastic vet! The only doctor there, he's mobile (full veterinarian office in a motor home), does house calls and regular office visits where he parks at a specific location and people come to him. He's also a Master Rehabilitator for the state of Maryland.

There is a $50 charge for house calls, but he is very honest and doesn't do all those crazy things larger groups do to pump up the bill.

If he is the same vet...He was going to open a practice in St. Leonard about 5 years ago, but decided not to.

Exact same thing here. Tidewater refused to see my girl, called 3 Notch, they got me in right away and my B spent 4 days in the Hospital. That's how serious it was and Tidewater won't see me again.

I all so have been a faitful client of Tidewater Hell with the animals that I have had there and they have been to my house !!! Hell I paid for that new addition they put on !!! My daughters pup was coughing up blood and I called them and they said bring the pup to WALDORF we can not fit you in ...

Yes I have had a bill from them BUT it has always been paid .. They have taken care of every litter I have had (I breed Shih Tzus ) also my 6 cats, 7 dogs and every horse I have had..I even have one dr's personal cell phone
(she was tending a sick horse at a farm call) but I am now thinking it is time to find another vet I was Pissed to say the least.... I even had a vet back home stay with my dog the night she came in and was dying (I used to work for him ) he took her out of the cage and stayed with her until she was gone .. he knew I could not be there and that I did not want her to die in a cage. (He new her since she was a pup) ..Now that is what I call a vet ...

We were pleased with 3 Notch. Staff was great in front and in the examining room. It was amzingly clean for a vet office.

She has mild kennel cough. Even though she had the shot it doesn't prevent them from getting it, just reduces its severity. She has an antibiotic and a cough medicine. She suggested boiled chicken and rice to mae sure she keeps eating since she's off her food.

The vet listened to our experience with our regular vet. She said she'd understand if I returned to my old vet, because the doctors were good, it sounded like the desk staff was uncooperative. I thought that was rare.
