Do we deserve our military?

Try arguing politics with a college Democrat and get back to me.

It's like arguing with a brick wall, they have nothing productive to say.

Once you point Iraq to Clinton and Katrina to DEMOCRAT Kathleen Blanco and actually manage to convince them that al-Qaida attacked us on 9-11, they just walk away :bawl: knowing everything they've ever been told by Feminem, Fergie and the Dixie Chicks are lies.

I have on several occasions. Normal average debates in which two people have differing opinions that never once degenerated to calling people names, liars or criminals.

regretably, that's probably true.

But the fact remains that it was common knowledge that Saddam Hussein had a WMD program going. And to prove it, he gassed the Kurds. Unless, of course, the media was lying too when they reported it.

While yes he had a program, the kurd analogy in anachronistic.

Very seldom have I.

Even arguing politics with my own father is like talking to a brick wall.

Anytime you say something to backup your point, it's "The news media only tells you half-truths and :blahblah:."

I've debated every time someone's said something dumb in class. If it's about Bush or Republicans, I just go off on them. They don't like it when you PROVE to them that they've been wrong about life all their life, so they degrade the quality of the debate by spewing as much venom as they can before you just roll your eyes and leave, thinking they're a :dork:.

It would help a great deal if our professors and even our textbooks weren't so liberal. I caught our textbook in my last class stating a point and downright lying to back it up. It stated that Republicans use electronic voting in their favor because they are richer and can afford to vote online.

I called it out right there and argued to the point that even the instructor backed down and told us to disregard the whole section because it was politically motivated and written in such a disgusting bias.

Then how is it that when Conservative speakers get invited to a university forum, they either get shouted down or physically assaulted. Just a couple of bad apples?

so where are they?

I've discussed this before.

The Easter Bunny hopped all over Iraq, collecting all the the WMD's in his basket. Santa picked him up in his sleigh the day before we invaded. The WMD's remain hidden in Santa's secret weapon vault at the North Pole.

You just made Vrai's point. What value does this add to the conversation other than a good laugh?

every single time?

one would think they'd stop trying then.

oh, or ar you exagurating to make it sound worse then it really is?

yes, just a couple of bad apples.

If every democrat was as bad as you say they seem to be, then approximatly 45-50% of the country would be in some kind of constant state of mailing death threats to all the republican leaders.

And you you honestly think it would be any different if Hillary came and spoke to this forum?

Well, Bush threatened for months before actually dropping the bombs, so Saddam had plenty of time to move them out. The Israelis and former Iraqi officials say they're in Syria.

Well if we knew where they were then why not follow them?

If we know they're in syria why not attack?

we went to one country for them. Why go "ehhh they still exist but .... eh .... I guess it's ok"?

You're right. When invited to speak to a group, and an opposing group disrupts and causes a problem, you should just go home and forget about it.

well if you're shut down every single time ....

or again, I ask, is that just an exagguration?

Look...

While yes he had a program, the kurd analogy in anachronistic.

...we went to war against Iraq in 1991 out of honor to a treaty with Kuwait and with the blessings of everyone in the region. As a condition of a CEASE FIRE, not an end to the war but a time out, Iraq agreed to certain, specific conditions.

Iraq went about bending and circumventing and in some cases flat out ignoring these agreements. Even the freaking UN agrees to that.

Iraq had mostly but not completely complied with UN inspectors. Iraq had numerous instances where it seemed readily evident to everyone that the building blocks of restarting weapons programs were being hidden.

Iraq had but to simply comply and the basis for any more pressure on them vaporizes.

We, as a nation, actually have a debate among us over who is worse, a dictator or a duly elected US president. We actually have arguments over whose fault it was; a leadership fully capable of complying with UN resolutions that they had agreed to and chose NOT to or a duly elected sitting US president who decided the time for screwing around had come to an end.

Dean and Kucinich and a good portion of the US left sees Bush as the enemy and can not in thought word or deed bring themselves to call either Saddam or Usama an enemy of the US or anyone else for that matter. Hillary and Obama and Edwards and Pelosi have not broken a sweat defending our own institutions against this sort of intellectual retardation.

That's just the way it is. It makes it damn tough to hold accountable a president suffering from excess exuberance and hubris when the alternative is the mentally ill.

I do.

I'd love Hillary Clinton to come on here and speak her piece. I'd love nothing more. If she did that, and answered many of our questions, then I'd have a lot more respect for her.

However, her entire family wants nothing to do with the outside world. They won't even do an interview with a nine-year-old kid.
