Does anyone know what's going on around the Lexington Park Post Office?

If I am not mistaken I think Nick was in a motorcycle accident sometime back which caused some brain injury. Not 100% sure but that is what I was told by several people. Not that I am excusing what he did but when someone has had a brain injury it does impair things to a point. I have a cousin that has brain injury and there are somethings that he does that he doesn't realize what he is doing or the price he will have to pay for doing them.
So in this cause yes I would fight tooth and nail!

Who the heck carries a knife and a golf club into the fire department anyway?
I have a small on on my key chain, not very lethal unless I stuck it in somone's neck.

He's 22, I'd let him handle it and be responsible for his actions.

I don't care if he was 15...I'd still let him handle it and be responsible for his actions. It's murder for God's sake, ya know.

Really... Anyone who would fight for him to get out of punishment will surely have a nice toasty seat in hell right beside him!

So what? Why should the rest of us be endangered just because someone else has a brain injury? Does mentall illness give you a right to just kill people and not be punished for it?

I was thinking that exact same thing.

I have to tell you, if there were no doubt that my kid had committed the crime, I'd have to let them twist. I'd feel so guilty and terrible about the victim that I couldn't, in good conscience, try to get my kid off or get them a reduced sentence.

If there were no doubt that he was guilty but there was an underlying cause, i.e. sexual/physical abuse, etc., would you still let them "twist?" In no way am I implying that murder is justified...

Does a parent have to help obtain defense for a juvenile? I'm still torn at what that age would be, especially for a capital offense like murder. I can't see not knowing what you are doing when you kill, no matter what age.

I am not saying for him to get out of a punishment at all. But if it is true about the accident and the brain injury something could have happened at that moment that caused this.
I know all of them and am very shocked that he would do something like this.

I happen to know a child abuser who 'seemed nice' and 'looked like a good dad.' His Mother and entire family chose to support him instead of their innocent 6-year old granddaughter. This is even after a confession and physical evidence. It's amazing what people do to protect their 'babies' even after they prove themselves to be true monsters.

What happened to the guy? Did he serve any time?

:yeahthat:
ESPECIALLY if it were your husband (or future husband) that he killed.

Still no excuse. The child molester I mentioned above is trying to play the, "But I was abused as a child," card. Bullsh*t!! Whether you really were or weren't, there is still no justification there.

Twist...twist...twistttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt and shoutttttttttt...

I would think that juveniles get public defenders like the rest of 'em. Right? And if they choose to get a lawyer over and above that they can do so.

That's dumb. So you think that because Andrea yates had a "disorder", that she should get off for murdering her 5 children?
It doesn't matter. He killed, whether he was sane or not. If I were his parent, like Jabba said, I would still love him b/c that's innate, but I wouldn't fight tooth and nail for him. He did it, so he'd have to pay.

I'd still not fight tooth and nail - brain injury or not. And if he was truly 'brain injured' than WTF was he doing out in society? :really:

I think that the parents should not stop loving their son, but he should face the music for what he did. His poor mother. She not only lost her future husband but her son as well. No one wins in this situation. My brother's killer took the easy way out and committed suicide immediately after killing my brother. His family was more devastated by what he did to my brother Tim then his suicide. It is something they have to live with every day - the fact that their only son took someones life.

Not sure just yet. He's still locked up awaiting plea/trial. I don't have much faith in the justice system, but we shall see!

Know it does not. And I am not saying he shouldn't be punished for it.
