If you'd like to know a bit more about 'Rancher' Don, Mike Wilbon, who normally gets on my nerves reflexively whining about race in issues where there is none, has something to say today;
What a whiney ass.

But there's nothing rare about Imus's vile attacks.
:drama:

This is what it's come down to. Wilbon's father may have marched with Dr. King for the right to sit in a diner, ride a bus, try on clothes in the dressing room, and get equal protection from our criminal justice system.

Wilbon's biggest complaint is that somebody called black people a name.

I can assume that he either doesn't notice or laughs when some comedian busts on whites? How about some of Al Sharpton's greatest hits? I'd have loved to see Imus counter the oh-so-very-Reverend Sharpton with Steven Pagones, Yankel Rosenbaum and Freddy's Fashion Mart.

The I-Man is good for his actions, and I still admire Mr. Imus for all hes done for those chuldren at the ranch. Children who don'tknow what hope feels like living normal for just one day.
Imus sucks and there's a part of me that's enjoying watching Sharpton stick it to him. Wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if they took him off the air. But race-hustling is wrong and bad for the country.

ABC is reporting the first 2 large scale sponsors are pulling their ads from Don Imus's show:

Proctor and Gamble and Staples are dropping their support because of the criticism he has received.

More to come, most likely.

:yeahthat:
Sharpton being involved in any part of a defamation complaint is just plain wrong.

...good points from you today.
Not really, Bryant Gumbell and Ahmad Rashad do not do a social commentary show based in humor.

I commented as I read. If I read to the end and then go back I lose interest, forget what I was going to say, or can't find the original post to quote. :lmao: forgive me.

He didn't say that, someone else did. You are bigoted against weaseled up old men?
the press isnt talking about the jigabo statement because it was a quote from a spike lee movie. dont forget, blacks can say anything they want about anybody, the rest of the world is expected to respect that as there right. something to do with that slavery thing i keep hearing about. never had one myself.

Imus gets paid to be outrageous, Sharpton and Jackson get paid to be outraged. It's a match made in heaven.

Don't see why that should concern the rest of us though.

Yep I guess they're both doing their job... :yay:

Now if Imus had done that I would have applauded, and started listening to his show.. he's another coward that won't stand up to the likes of Sharpton or Jackson.. Who made them the kings of what is and isn't racism for white people?

That's right. The two of those bozo's are so fake, the second they step on to the scene the whole validity of the subject is lost. :coffee:

You can call me a cracker, you can call me a redneck.. a honkey or anything else anyone feels is disparaging to a white person. Words have no power over me..

None of it would hurt my feeling one bit.

This day and age name calling is the least of my concerns....my kids are taught not to do it but I also hope that they have learned not to be bothered by someone calling them names. :bigwhoop:

Are you referring to Mayor Nagin?

The term "Chocolate City" was used for years in referring to the District of Columbia. Just curious why you think that term is racist. Are you just referring to Mayor Nagin's use of the term or the term itself? I always understood it to be a descriptive term for the D.C. given the majority of the population was Black. It had nothing to do with Black or White racism....just a descriptive term.

Perhaps it was the context in which the phrase was used.

Come on bob. You cannot sit here and say that those two phrases are the same. If so you are saying calling your mother a nappy headed ho is just like calling her chocolate. Not the same.

It's however one chooses to perceive them....Neither would bother me although I think she would like chocolate better!! :killingme

The point everyone is missing is this man insulted young black students...not a group of video vixens or a group of prostitutes. These are young women who are pursuing a higher education who happen to be athletes...so is it ok to insult children and athletes? Or wait it was a joke, so it's ok to make jokes about our children and we shouldn't be mad we should chuck it up....imagine if Ahmad Rashad or Brian Gumble had called a group of white female college athletes a bunch of stringy haired tramps....do you think the white people would just laugh it off....tell each other to grow a thicker skin....cite the fact that white comedians make jokes about blacks all the time, tell each other oh we disrespect ourselves by calling each other cracker and slut etc...so that's why blacks disrespect us......

sleep on this.
So apparently you are black and REALLY old, because I have no memory of what a slave master said, I was neither a master nor a slave, so wouldn't have heard anything.

I have read historical records of the time frame, but personally, as far as I know, I have never met a slave let alone used one.

The last person I recall using the term "nappy headed" was either Eddie Murphy or Martin Lawrence.. two people that I am fairly certain also don't own slaves.
