well thats the problem with EV's Charging long distance

Not the better ones :) The others will get there eventually, but that's 3-5 years away. Third party solutions mean those providing the service are not incentivized to make it work seamlessly and reliably.

Tesla drops of 250 foot cliff, all survive, minor injuries.

One of the responders in the helo posted that this cemented his choice to purchase. Seems they come to this spot fairly often and it virtully always a body recovery only. I saw one report, not corroborated yet, that the husband was being charged with attempted murder as he delberatley drove off the cliff. Toss his back over, I say.

California man intentionally drove Tesla off cliff with another adult, 2 kids in car: authorities

California Highway Patrol identified Dharmesh A. Patel, of Pasadena, as the man who drove himself and three others off the 'Devil's Slide' cliff in a Tesla

A man who injured himself and three others, including two children, after driving his Tesla off a cliff in California on Monday is now facing multiple charges after authorities said the plunge was intentional.

California Highway Patrol in San Francisco on Facebook said Dharmesh A. Patel, of Pasadena, was arrested for attempted murder and child abuse Tuesday. After talking to witnesses and gathering evidence at the scene, investigators believe "this incident was an intentional act."

Patel and the second adult reportedly suffered traumatic injuries and the two children were rushed to the hospital by ambulance with musculoskeletal injuries.

Authorities did not say if the passengers are related to Patel or not.

Allah must have told him to do it.

Or his wife found out about the not named "second adult" and he was going to take the kids away

Regarding the $7500 rebate. Good explanation, but a new twist is that you can bypass all the restrictions if you lease.

We passed one on 360 coming home from Danville on Sunday. Had to ask Google what it was...

Son and I passed one of the new Rivian SUVs on a car carrier coming up 85 from Atlanta this morning. Was a bit north of Greensboro

Don't have to be a naysayer my greenie neighbor has one , she loves not buying gas but hates the charging time and reduction in range of her EV. She has had it 3 years now and tells me her range has dropped at least 20%. If you bought one all I can say to you is good luck. From what I understand battery tech has not changed a whole lot in 3 years, so a 20% drop is range is a lot by anyone's standards.
Like all batteries they have a shelf life
Charging and discharging wears batteries out
How much does your electric bill go up
My 2020 outback will go almost 500 if not more miles before I will need fuel again on the highway

And FJB

Shelf life.... well, I can buy AAA batteries all day that have a 20 year lifespan

And it does. You normally see a "big" hit of %5 to 8%, which then levels out and drops much slower over time. Speed of charge matters, as does how far you dip into the top and bottom 10%. And of course, battery types do vary. But Tesla expects 300-500k for the lifespan of their batteries. Pouch and prismatic cells, well, not enough data on them yet.

Depends on your electric rate, but unless you are in a bad place with insane rates, its going to be far less than your fuel bill drops.

That's nice, but I would expect that out of an 18 gallon gas tank. Do you often drive 500 miles between stops?

As you have probably heard by now, the EV rebate has been going thru some growing pains, some deadlines pushed to 1stQ next year, etc....

The IRS is soliciting comments on the EV rebates. If you have a concern, or would like them to consider something that bugs you, now's your chance. Yes, from the Aptera user's group, but this guy talks about ALL things EV.

Nope. as long as people just toss out wrong info, I'll correct it. And I cant buy mine til they start making them.......

Of course, if you give making such blanket wrong statements as "they are all junk" a break, I could take a break too :)

Sorry bro I call'em as I see see'em , I've talked to too many unsatisfied EV owners, glitches in the chargers, too long to charge, losses in the range after two or three years and difficulty finding charging stations. Several of them have already traded them in for ICE powered vehicles, these are folks who I know are EV owners and I trust. I don't think that the climate around here is an issue with them, no one has brought that up yet, a couple of them ski, maybe I will hear about that at a later date. If and when they do I will keep you posted.
