You want it come get it.. 1 big azz red oak tree that got whacked by lightening couple weeks ago. I have it blocked up but not split, blocks are so big I can only get one at a time in the bucket on the bobcat. If you want it email me and I'll give you directions, I live in Marbury (below Indian Head).

Got rid of my wood stove a few years back and put in a propane insert. BEST move ever, just sucks paying the gas bill.

Let me make sure I completely understand this.

You want somebody to give you $150 to cut down a tree and remove the wood from your property. Is that correct?

You ARE planning to split that wood before you bring it over to my place, right?

Oh... And stack it neatly this time.

Nope. I want to sell the wood on "u haul it" conditions. My only condition is that someone who is licensed and insured bring it down and the buyer hauls it away. I don't do delivery. However much that costs, that's for the buyer to decide if they think it's a good deal. The money would never even have to enter my hands.

Like I said... if he has a buddy in the business, it's a free tree.

It's all moot anyway.... looks like he has a few other offers in this tread.

I deleted it because I still am not sure what he's saying. So, if I have a bonded, licensed friend I can "have" the tree and NOT give Sleuth any money, is that right?

However, I still stand by my ignorant or cheap dilemma.

Slueth, I really try to be nice to you but you're frigging amazing. Most licensed and bonded tree people cut down the trees and (surprise) they also get the wood and charge you, say, $500.

I just can't figure out if you are ignorant or cheap.

 Maybe both... Ignorant? I've never paid anyone to bring down a tree because I always did it myself, so how would I know how tree companies do their business? Cheap? I just got an unexpected bill of $1000 for a dentist and I'm trying to replace my broken down car at the same time. I'm also saving for a diamond ring to ask my gf to marry me, and my deck is about to fall off the house. Every little bit that I save... helps. You call it cheap... I call it thrifty.

Would it make everyone feel warm and fuzzy about ol' sleuth if I paid to have the tree brought down myself, and then charged him $150 for the firewood? I'd even help him load it! Seems to me to be the same thing.

Jeez... ya'all think I'm UFB. I think you all are acting like a bunch of jerks...

Soon as I can afford a chain-saw on top of all that other stuff, I will. It's all about priorities. Right now that tree is at the bottom of the list, you jerkoff...

Welcome to real world. All of us have dental bills, home repair bills, car care issues. Oh yeah, most of us have children as well. Many of us have responsibilities you couldn't even imagine. It's life, Sleuth. You don't hear us whining about needing help finding cars, come dig up bushes, cut down my tree and it's yours, could you bring me this, pick up that...but sorry, I won't be able to help you, etc. It might sound thrifty to you, but it seems like a user to me. Sorry.
