Welcome to real world. All of us have dental bills, home repair bills, car care issues. Oh yeah, most of us have children as well. Many of us have responsibilities you couldn't even imagine. It's life, Sleuth. You don't hear us whining about needing help finding cars, come dig up bushes, cut down my tree and it's yours, could you bring me this, pick up that...but sorry, I won't be able to help you, etc. It might sound thrifty to you, but it seems like a user to me. Sorry.

I'm well aware of what is "life".

What I'm not aware of is any "whining" going on. I'm just stating facts. And I don't believe in something for nothing. I believe in a "I'll help you out, you help me out, everybody wins" economy.

That's the reason I offered to help huntr out this weekend, doing what I felt that I could handle, just being a gopher, despite my being in massive pain. Because he helped me out once.

Think what you like, but the old adage rings true: There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Yet so many keep trying to find it.

Have seen them charge up to $500 per tree if it's a SOB to take down. With houses all over the place, they have to use a bucket truck and take it down piece by piece instead of just dropping the whole tree.

My last tree cost $450, they tore up my yard, ran over my whiskey barrel planter and dropped huge trunk pieces on my lilac bush. :bawl:

It's worth every penny as long as it doesn't fall on the house. I've had about 6 trees come down since I've lived here, none were under $300. Insurance doesn't cover it.

Maybe you're blind, too. Why don't you go back and read my last post in that tread.
Kinda makes you wish you had surfed porn instead of coming here today doesn't it.

I have State Farm... Although it isn't explicitly spelled out in the policy, I believe falling trees are covered under the category of "wind damage" or "storm damage".

You all have fun bashing old sleuth now. It's almost like a forum pasttime.

I'm going to go eat the lunch that I had to pay for.

:lmao:

You should go into our classifieds (http://classifieds.somd.com) and post an "Items Wanted" ad. It's FREE! Or see if there's anyone on there that has firewood yet. Last year we had a bunch of folks that were getting rid of wood on a "you haul" basis - they took down some trees and just wanted the wood out of there.
